The tension in relation to the picking of running mate seems to be heightening as groups keep pushing for female candidature in the Ashanti Region as the NPP party weighs its options.

At a press briefing in Kumasi, these teachers highlighted the significance of gender representation in political leadership. They firmly believe that having a female running mate would not only promote gender equality but also inspire young girls to aspire to leadership positions.
Another crucial aspect highlighted by the teachers group is the potential for increased voter engagement. They argue that a female running mate would resonate with a significant portion of the electorate, particularly women voters. This could lead to greater political participation and a more diverse and inclusive democratic process.
One of the key arguments put forth by the teachers group is the need for diverse perspectives in decision-making processes. They said that women bring unique insights and experiences that can contribute to more comprehensive and well-rounded policies.
