Henry Nana Boakye has condemned the religious comments by the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen, regarding the presidential elections in December.
Addressing a congregation during Easter celebrations, Mr. Kyerematen urged Christians to exercise their voting rights by choosing a candidate who shares their beliefs.
"As a predominately Christian nation and as Christians, it is our responsibility to ensure we elect a Christian leader who is also a Christlike leader", he said, referring to himself as the leader with such qualities.
But the National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has cautioned Alan Kyerematen to refrain from creating religious divisions.
According to him, Alan's comments are "not the best. It doesn't unite us; it's not good".
Nana Boakye admonished Alan and every Ghanaian to be tolerant of one another stressing "God can make a Muslim the President of this country and this country could be better. We need to be religiously tolerant. That's what has strengthened our peace".
He also touted the flagbearer of the governing party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a leader who has proven with his actions and words that he respects all religions and this he has demonstrated through his relation with Christians though he is a Muslim.
"His respect for all manner of faith is overwhelming and he is religiously tolerant", Nana B emphasized on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.

If we mistakenly bring Bawumia, all the Christian schools like Wesley Girls will be compelled to build mosques in their schools. People from Turkey, UAE, etc will come and build islamic schools all over the country, the plan is not to develop Ghanaians but to empower Islam fanatics and we will see the consequences in many years to come. We are not against an open minded, good Muslim president in Ghana, but we are against a person like Drm Bawumia with an islamic agenda to become our president.
This is not a conspiracy anymore, the man's preoccupation is to take the Qur'an to the Jubilee house and he is telling us that we Christians are the ones going to push him to do that. Bawumia is the one consistently playing the religious politics. He was caught on take telling the Muslim community that he was selected because he is a Muslim, today, he is telling all of us that he wants to take the Qur'an to the jubilee housse and that is his ultimate goal and not to do anything proper for our nation,. Check the trajectory of Christian dominated countries in Africa that allowed a person with an islamic agenda to take over the country, their countries have not been the same ever. I'm fact, it will be unfair to generalise and say "Muslim" president because some of our Muslim brothers and sisters are very correct people who will work for the betterment of Ghana and not to advance any religious agenda, but unfortunately Bawumia himself has been vocal about his religious biases. Akufo Addo is determined to be the stepping stone for a a person with an islamic agenda to become a president in Ghana and also for LGBTQ to gain grounds in Ghana. We have to show him that he is not God and together, we are more powerful than him.
Yes God make anyone a president, in that case, that person will not have to do anything extraordinarily unconventional. We all know how Akufo Addo manipulated for Bawumia to be selected as the flagbearer. We also saw how Bawumia paid huge bribes to delegates to vote for him, especially at a time that his government has taken haircuts on poor pensioners savings. So that's obviously cruelty and God cannot be involved in that. Where did he get that money from? We also heard him on tape assuring the Muslim community that his selection is based on he being a Muslim, so definitely there's an agenda and this is not strange with some of our Muslim brothers, at least we can see how Nigeria has been turned into a Muslim country where Christians are persecuted. We haven't ever heard of any incident ever where Christians have persecuted any people but the reverse is common. Akufo Addo has also said on many occasions that he will do everything in his strength to ensure Bawumia is "selected" as the president. So don't attribute anything to God when it's clear that it's Akufo Addo's manipulation together with Bawumiah's desire to promote certain religious agenda's that are driving him
Dr. Bawumia made a bold declaration to the Muslim community, promising to bring the Qur’an to Jubilee House, Ghana’s seat of government if elected as President. He said “after December 7th I will take the Qur’an and pray and take it to the Jubilee house. It is Possible This is the promise of Dr Bawumia. He never promised us that he is going to the Jubilee house because of his interrity but the hope of carrying the Quran there,
Nana! don't worry yourself so much. Allan is irrelevant to Ghanaians anymore and his political career is dead. If you have people like Hopeson, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah as your advisers this is what will happen. His main agenda is to derail the chances of Dr. Bawumia but, who God has ordained, no man could put asunder. If I were him I would keep my cool and enjoy what I have garnered in my political life with my family and tell stories to my grandchildren.
