God Can Make A Muslim President Of Ghana - Nana B Replies Alan Kyerematen

Henry Nana Boakye has condemned the religious comments by the leader of the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen, regarding the presidential elections in December.

Addressing a congregation during Easter celebrations, Mr. Kyerematen urged Christians to exercise their voting rights by choosing a candidate who shares their beliefs.

"As a predominately Christian nation and as Christians, it is our responsibility to ensure we elect a Christian leader who is also a Christlike leader", he said, referring to himself as the leader with such qualities.

But the National Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has cautioned Alan Kyerematen to refrain from creating religious divisions.

According to him, Alan's comments are "not the best. It doesn't unite us; it's not good".

Nana Boakye admonished Alan and every Ghanaian to be tolerant of one another stressing "God can make a Muslim the President of this country and this country could be better. We need to be religiously tolerant. That's what has strengthened our peace".

He also touted the flagbearer of the governing party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a leader who has proven with his actions and words that he respects all religions and this he has demonstrated through his relation with Christians though he is a Muslim.

"His respect for all manner of faith is overwhelming and he is religiously tolerant", Nana B emphasized on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" show.
