National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has criticized communicators of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) who are backing some comments made by Hawa Koomson in 2019.
The Minister for Special Development Initiative, Mavis Hawa Koomson, while she was being interviewed about the delay in the distribution of ambulances on Neat FM, said the assertion that failure to deliver the ambulances to the constituencies could increase the deaths of unfortunate Ghanaians, is neither here nor there, since “people started dying a long time ago.”
This comment was widely condemned as some critics described it as 'insensitive'.
Sammy Gyamfi who was speaking on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' programme, Wednesday, said: "The punishment for those of you supporting the Minister will even be worse than the Minister herself because I know NPP communicators condemning this . . . but you are supporting her instead of condemning; meanwhile, people are dying".
According to him, "you cannot toil with people’s lives . . . This is not like Christmas . . . these are emergencies. An ambulance can save a life today . . . even NPP members listening to us know we are telling you (government) the truth but you are blinded by power and so you don’t care about the ordinary Ghanaian. Come 2020 you will be held accountable."

sammy gyamfi should keep queit because n d c eight years did not bring anything good to mother ghana.salute
Folks truth be told. What the government position is untenable. There is no way that they can justify this delay. I am not looking at the party in government but the general attitude to public administration in the country, not only by this government but with all other governments. This government is in power now so i am holding them accountable. Many of these ministers have acquired education in the advanced countries. Some i saw on my sojourn educating myself in these advanced countries. They saw at first hand how public administration is done, the ethos, committment, foresight, apathy, empathy and so on. A health service is set up and it is accountable to the citizens whereby many of us who were foriegn students leeched off it. What is happening with this ambullance issue is embarrasing. Every minute, there is a different story. I listened to the public transport unit head at the seat of government and it did not make good reasoning. He just focused on Sammy Gyamfis age. I listened to the Minister for special Initiatives also and the reason given was different and basaa. The President came with his version. There should be a social force in the country devoid of party affiliation which will punish politicians even if it is their party in power. This is because which ever party is in power know they have a core vote which will go for them no matter what they do. We should learn from the recent UK elections where the core voters for the labour Party punished them. It has made even the Conservative Party sit up. Do we deserve this as a country?
Sammy Gyemfi, the curse will be upon you and your family
Mr. Sammy Gyamfi, the 30 ambulances ordered by the NDC in 2015/2016, have not been distributed yet. My advice to you is that let your Party leaders quickly organize and arrange to have those distributed immediately, after all, your Party ordered for them and took delivery of them.
May Sammy Gyanfi's curse return to him and his family's head and his generations heads. you people wickedly bought trotro and nobody cursed you for it. may your curses return to your head
Sometimes it is very annoying to listen to the NDC making comments about this ambulance issues. It is like the pig criticizing the cow for being dirty. How on earth? Imagine the NPP rushing to distribute these ambulances in the name of emergencies without training the drivers and paramedics well and within 3 weeks we start hearing of these ambulances being involved in several accidents and people dying on the way to the hospitals due to wrong usage of the equipment installed in the ambulances. We will be the same people who will quickly turn around to blame the government for rushing to distribute the ambulances for political reasons. Sometimes you don't get how some of us Ghanaians reason. I wonder what we really want as Ghanaians. I think most of us just love to complain.
