The Member of Parliament for South Dayi Constituency, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, has issued an apology to Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars.
Dafeamekpor had previously accused Gyan of intentionally missing a penalty kick during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, allegedly to prevent the then NDC-led government from receiving praise..
However, many years down the line, the MP today, took to his X page and wrote: "The Black Stars & other national teams have iconically rallied & carried our passions, dreams and aspirations for glory to the world...Upon reflection & calls from people like Kenpong, I retract & unreservedly apologize to Asamoah Gyan, for my comments."

How can you make such an unguided statement and come back to apologize? How can Ghana progress with people like this in politics? It's because of such uncultured, untutored , p-one-nic statements from people like you that renowned sportsmen such as Azumah Nelson and ABEDI PELE with all the experience they have gained through their various sporting disciplines are quiet and watching as almost all the sporting disciplines are moving from bad to worse. They will be tagged as either NDC or NPP if they were to accept some key roles to offer suggestions as to what needs to be done to restructure Ghana sports in general. Was Asamaoh Djan wearing the NPP jersey when he missed that penalty? You forgot that he scored another penalty in that very match. Is there any footballer in the world who has never missed a penalty kick he took at the World Cup ? Are you saying that the black stars players who missed penalty kicks between 2017 to date are all NDC and will not want the NPP to take the credit if the black stars were to win any trophy in an international tournament? No wonder from 1992 to date nobody can confidently say Ghana is making progress as a democratic country because the caliber of people in politics are more interested in their parties than the country. I won't be surprised if black stars players refuse to take penalty kicks in crucial tournaments in the near future. Ghana is only left with two institutions that that brings us together 1. The Ghana army because the Ghanaian people have a lot of trust in the army to defend the country when the need arises 2. The black stars, the only time you hear NPP and NDC agreeing on one thing ( win) is when the black stars are playing ,only for this uncultured so called MP to make such an uncoughed statement. Next time think before you speak.
Eat your vomit.... next time think before you talk. You are too partisan.
