EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR hopes to complete his 5million move to Spurs this week.
A deal was agreed between Manchester City and the White Hart Lane side over six weeks ago but the switch stalled because of personal terms.
But Adebayor has now indicated he is ready to take a significant pay cut to push things along.
The Togo international has two years left on the 170,000-a-week deal he signed when he joined City in summer 2009.
And he was anxious that he would not be out of pocket if he moves, despite being completely frozen out at the Etihad.
Champions City will make a huge loss on a player who cost 25m from Arsenal.
Italian boss Roberto Mancini said recently: I am sorry for Adebayor because hes a good player.
There is no chance of him playing for us, so for that reason its important we find a solution.
Meanwhile, Mancini is hoping to hijack midfielder Javi Martinezs 31m switch from Athletic Bilbao to Bayern Munich.
