Former Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah says the comment by Mr. Yaw Osafo-Maafo that the Energy Minister is the only person to order for the publication of a “dumsor” timetable is an attempt to derail the Minister’s opportunity to become Running Mate to the NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to Bernard Mornah, the Akyem mafia in the NPP is against the Energy Minister because he blocked their shady deals and for that, they plot to ruin his chances of ascending the party’s hierarchy.
“Why would Osafo-Maafo say this at this material point in time? I think it is meant to scuttle the chances of the Energy Minister in the Running Mate agenda because they don’t like him”, he said to Berla Mundi on TV3.
He continued; “Clearly the likes of Osafo-Maafo want to shift the blame on Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh just because he is in contention in the NPP Running Mate agenda. For me, there is a higher authority and that higher authority is not Matthew Opoku Prempeh” to bring out the timetable.
Mr. Mornah’s response comes on the heels of the Senior Advisor to the President, Yaw Osafo-Maafo’s call on the Energy Minister to publish a load-shedding timetable and a similar demand from the Executive Director of IES, Nana Amoasi who says the Minister needs to be removed from office.
Mr. Mornah described the calls as not being in good faith but rather a political agenda solely against the Energy Minister.

Is Bernard Mornah now a member of the NPP? Whether Osafo Marfo has an agenda against Napo or not, we do not care. Whether Napo becomes running mate or not, we do not care. Indeed, the choice of Napo will further facilitate the journey of this government to opposition. All the ordinary Ghanaian wants is light to work and survive in this heat. My office has not had lights for 3 days and all you people care about is this arrogant man's bid to become running mate. All because of coins. Ah Ghana!
So when Napo opened his mouth to say those saying there is dumsor should generate the timetable was that one too an agenda? Osafo Marfo and Co forced his tongue and mouth to utter those words? Suban ete s3 nyins3n. Bawumia, go ahead and choose this self-conceited man as your running mate. Defeat awaits the NPP
The moment Akuffu Addo decided to appoint Napo to be the education minister, there was a huge backlash from the top hierarchy because Napo had absolutely no expertise in running schools for him to lead the president “presidency “ FREE BOARDING SECONDARY EDUCATION. Boy oh boy, did he perform? Ghana is one of the countries in the world where an increase number of students at the same time has increased the academic achievement of students but because of partisan politics we are always going to discuss the negative impact of the free SHS but the most important aspect of this, the improved academic performance is not being discussed. Napo will be remembered as one of the best Education minister we have had. Until now, our lights were on and I know this result oriented minister is having sleepless nights to sort it out. Loath him or love him, Napo is fully qualified for the running mate of the Npp. “Facts are factual but comments are free”
Politics is brutal, dirty and mischievous. How should the minister of Energy draw the time table for load shedding? What is the heard of the ECG board doing? Osafo Marfo made a comment of Ashantis not contributing to the independence of Ghana and later on apologised. I am not comfortable at times with Napo’s temperament but as a trained medical surgeon he has done so well in the ministries he has been appointed to head. I understand that this hard working minister is at work by 6:30am and he expects no one in his ministry to be late for work.As Ken Agyapong always says “most Ghanaians can’t differentiate confidence from arrogance “ . Napo, the hard working minister who has been adjudged the best minister for five years will certainly not be the running mate but the jubilee house should not try to destroy one of the best the NPP has.
Democracy is sometimes very annoying. Always ascribing motives to people n using that to crate hatred.
