Special Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has censured the Akufo-Addo-led government's newly launched Performance Tracker, dismissing it as a misplaced priority.
Bawah Mogtari argued that the tracker failed to address the increasing corruption within the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, which has negatively impacted public finances.
She insisted that the tracker is a waste of limited state resources, as it does not provide transparency regarding the government's alleged extravagant spending.
Posting on her X platform on Thursday, April 11, the former Deputy Transport Minister highlights that 80% of government projects and contracts are single-sourced, alleging that the government favours nepotism by handpicking individuals and companies for lucrative contracts.
She emphasised that Ghanaians anticipated revelations about government performance from the tracker, specifically regarding nepotism and questionable contracts.
She said, "To my utter surprise and disappointment, the misleading GoG Performance Tracker failed to track the performance of Akufo Addo/Bawumia’s performance on corruption."
"What a waste of precious resources! Tell us how you and your boys and girls have perfected the art of corruption."
She added, "We are told that 80% of government projects and contracts are single-sourced, and individuals and companies are handpicked by this nepotistic government and awarded juicy contracts."
She further urged the government to prioritize policies aimed at improving the lives of struggling Ghanaians and to halt unnecessary expenditure of state funds.
"That is what this NPP government should be tracking down and paying back to the now miserably empty public purse," she added.
Her comment coincides with the government's launch of the Performance Tracker at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in Accra on Wednesday, April 10.
The platform's objective is to enhance transparency and accountability in the implementation of government infrastructure projects nationwide according to the government.

I don't care about your useIess tracker. My business is to draw the attention of people who can reason to the same old strategy of mediocre and failed politicians. Tell me one working country where their serious government has had a need to create a so called tracking system? Creating a tracker or green book or whatever is the first sign of admitting failure. Rather, what serious governments do is accountability. Let Akufo Addo/ Bawumia government show seriousness for once and tell Ghanaians how much income they have received in their tenure and what every bit of it has been disbursed for, then we can take them seriously. We have seen Akufo Addo covering up on the many corruption scandals that have happened in his government, then suddenly he brings a ridiculous tracker with no sense of accountability, what does he take Ghanaians for, does he think we're all like his fooI soldiers?
why are you people angry with her? she has the right to speak her mind after all we are in a democracy. i wish the systems had worked well so that elected government official will have been comparing notes with Jacob Zuma instead of asking for votes. by the way we are still looking for Bekwai- Aburi road in the green book. can she help?
But you people are claim this government has borrowed so much money and you have not seen what they have used the money for, and they are showing you what the money has been used for in the performance tracker and this one tooo bue. Haaaaaba kose enkoskoda nkoda. what kind of people are you.
if she has any evidence of corruption on any NPP Member, what stops her from creation her own tracker to expose the corruption and disgrace them. you always open your mouths and speak trash. (NDC) Notorious, Deceitful Criminals
Even your JDM, GO1 is walking free! We are wise now. NDC, NEVER AGAIN!
@Timooo Say you don't need the tracker but as an independent voter, I need it and I will assess the projects initiated and completed to choose who will be my President. For me the tracker is good, period. You can make all your noise but my vote is my vote and not for sale.
@ Arko, Ghanaians have eyes to see the performance or non - performance of government around them, whenever a government finds a need to create a book or tracking to their so called performance, just know that their defeat and humiliation is imminent. Nana Akomea recently bemoaned the inability of the Akufo Addo government to achieve substantial number of their promises, what will be more useful to Ghanaians is for government to create a tracker to map out all their promises against their achievements and include all the income they have received since 2017 and how every pessewa has been used. That's what is called accountability and not this mediocre same corruption and deception strategy of deceiving guIIible people.
What is this the matter with this corrupt girl? The tracker is good and very useful to voters except Kofi Adam and his NDC cohort. Kofi Adam has a lot of cars after NDC was voted out in 2016 and perhaps he is now dry so want to be a minister and get more rich.
People commenting here appear as hollow corrupt blind followers of political parties, talking as though their brains have been disengaged. Yes, I agree that the green book was needless in the first place, just as this so called tracker and should have also tracked the corruption in that regime. But that's even more true for this ridiculous digital tracker, it should track and reveal the corruption scandals and also all the resources that the government has received in terms of taxes, loans, grants, bank of Ghana cash printing etc, that's is more beneficial to Ghanaians. Failure of the previous administration does not guarantee failure of the current one, otherwise what was the need for the change? 8 years on, nothing importantly different has been done and people are not ashamed comparing their failures with the previous administration.
I agree. The tracker should have tracked the AIRBUS.
