The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has criticized the newly launched Performance Tracker by the Akufo-Addo-led government, describing it as a misplaced priority.
According to the main opposition party, the time and resources allocated to formulating and launching the Performance Tracker could have been better used to bring some relief to Ghanaians by investing the resources into the economy.
The government launched the Performance Tracker on Wednesday, April 10.This performance tracker is to enhance transparency and accountability in the implementation of infrastructure projects nationwide.
The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande, in his opinion, questioned the tracker’s efficacy in improving the quality of lives of Ghanaians.
He further rebuked the government, insinuating that their priorities do not align with the genuine welfare concerns of ordinary Ghanaians.
“How will the performance [tracker] impact the ordinary Ghanaian who has not eaten in the last 24 hours? How would that impact the life of an old lady who is helpless but cannot get health care and government intervention?”
In an interview with Citinews monitored by Peacefmonline.com, Mustapha Gbande mentioned that a competent government does not need to list its achievements, as good deeds speak for themselves.
He expressed scepticism about the government’s claims, stating, “Today we are back to cash and carry in terms of infrastructure. They want to present what they have captured on a performance tracker that does not reflect what is on the ground.
“So clearly, these are people who continue to lie. They continue to demonstrate that they don’t care about the ordinary Ghanaian. Because if the government performs well, you don’t need a tracker to showcase your performance, the people of Ghana will know.”
According to Mr. Gbande, the tracker does not provide an accurate reflection of the nation’s development, echoing the NDC’s concerns about the government’s priorities.

then what was the green book about? by the way, we are still looking for Bekwai- Aburi road in the green book,
WHEN THE NPP YEARS BACK WAS ASKING NDC IF GREENBOOK IS WHAT WILL PUT FOOD OUR TABLE. MMOA, NOW YOU'VE REALISED IT WAS NEEDED . NPP SHOULD STOP DECEIVING THEMSELVES WITH PERORMANCE TRACKER FOR IT WON'T PUT FOOD ON OUR TABLES . MMOA , THE ELECTIONS BEEN HELD ALREADY 2 YEARS AGO AND BAWUMIA WILL BE HUMILIATED SO MUCH THAT HE WOULDN'T KNOW WHAT HIT HIM
It is this hypocrisy in our politics that alienates some of us from it. A few years ago, NDC was all over the place with the green book touting the achievements of the government. Today, a tracker is said by same NDC to be unnecessary. What hypocrisy!
we don't need tracker but rather your fake projects Green Book with artist impression drawings instead. These NDC people are hypocrates.
NDC will not stop amazing us. Same people who launched Green book, few years down the line, telling us that and I quote "if the government performs well, you don’t need a tracker to showcase your performance"
NDC, stop worrying our ears. Just tell us, the Government should just have published a Green Book, like we did under Mahama.
