A leading member of Movement for Change, Hopeson Yaovi Adorye has cautioned Majority Chief Whip in Ghana's Parliament, Frank Annoh-Dompreh to be mindful of his utterances towards his group's founder, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen.
The lawmaker openly criticised Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen for his remarks suggesting that Ghana, a predominantly Christian nation, should elect a Christian president.
Mr Kyerematen who was addressing a congregation on Easter Sunday emphasised the need for Ghanaians to elect a Christian leader.
"As a predominantly Christian nation, as Christians, it is our responsibility that we elect a Christian leader who is also a Christlike leader," the former ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Minister of Trade and Industry said.
"If God touches your heart, and you vote for Alan Kyerematen, the transformative leader, then I can assure you, as our Lord Jesus did on the cross, promise that ye shall be in paradise with him; you shall also be in paradise when I come into power," he said.
Reacting to this on his social media handle, Annoh-Dompreh lambasted Alan Kyerematen, labelling his comments “terrible, and ugly”.
"This is backwards, terrible, and ugly, to say the least. The NPP has truly 'suffered' in bearing and tolerating you over the years. Show me one country globally that has succeeded by using your theory. Alan is not relevant in our 'modern' body politics! Bow in shame!" he posted.
But Hopeson Adorye, in an interview with NEAT FM's morning show, Ghana Montie, warned Annoh-Dompreh to stay away from his leader's issues.
"Who is Annoh-Dompreh? How old is he to rubbish what Alan has said? Because he has enriched himself through politics, he has the guts to insult Alan. I don't blame him.
“Alan is well-mannered and speaks wisdom. Even he [Annoh-Dompreh] is proud and cherishes his running mate who doesn't speak well. Listen, whoever tries anything against Alan will regret it, we will equally face them.” Hopeson Yaovi Adory told host, McJerry Osei Agyemang.

Hopeson, do not forget that age is not synonymous with wisdom. Did what Alan say make sense? Does it augur well for our country? He goofed. Accept it and stop defending ***barred word***.
You people are trivialising such an important matter, you are not privy to what Alan knows. Are you not scared about Dr. Bawumia telling the Muslim community to vote for him because he's representing all of them and more recently, he said he wants to take the quaran to the Jubilee House? Every amount of development will be reversed in a few years if you have a man who wants to champion unpopular islamic agenda in a country. Just learn from Nigeria, they have important resources like californium in the north that cannot be touched and people of other faith are dying on daily basis.
Alan is a fine gentleman I respect but this statement he made is far below the belt and i Ieast expected that from him. Hopeson my brother exercise a bit of restraint after all you are all from the same mother and believe in the property owning tradition. Thanks
these people have no message or policy ooh, their job is to make sure the npp does not win the elections. that is all they seek to do. look at what Alan has said. there is no difference between the Alan people and the ndc
Hopeson nobody has your time, you can do anything NPP will win this election come 2024
You want to rule a nation of such enviable inter religious tolerance with this theory? I feel sorry for Mother Ghana.
I AGREE WITH ALAN. BAWUMIA SAID FIRST THAT ALL MUSLIMS SHOULD VOTE FOR HIM. DEMOCRACY MEANS MAJORITY RULES SO MUSLIMS CANNOT RULE CHRISTIANS IF THEY ARE IN THE MINORITY.
Alan has shown his infantile lifestyle and bogus mindset. I understand why people like Hopson is the one following him
