The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, says she will not contest the December 7 parliamentary election as an independent candidate, despite many calls.
To her, despite her defeat in the party’s parliamentary primaries, she has no intention to go solo.
“As a three-term Member of Parliament and a true party person, I am cognizant of the fundamental principles which underpin the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition, for which internal competition and afterwards cooperation remain the guiding light.
“For the avoidance of doubt and without any shred of ambiguity, I reiterate that I have no intention whatsoever of running as an Independent Candidate in the upcoming December 7, 2024, Presidential and Parliamentary elections, and for that matter, at any point in the foreseeable future,” she said in a statement

January 30, 2024.
My attention has been drawn to several recent misinformation and speculation in the media regarding my political future in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency in particular and the New Patriotic Party as a whole.
I wish to clarify, that despite the setback and outcome of last Saturday’s parliamentary primaries in Dome-Kwabenya, I remain steadfast in my commitment to the shared values of the New Patriotic Party and our corporate quest to break the 8 with H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia come December 7, 2024.
As a three-term Member of Parliament and a true party person, I am cognizant of the fundamental principles which underpin the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition for which internal competition and afterwards cooperation, remain the guiding light.
For the avoidance of doubt and without any shred of ambiguity, I reiterate that I have no intention whatsoever of running as an Independent Candidate in the upcoming December 7, 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections and for that matter, at any point in the foreseeable future.
I take the opportunity to express my eternal appreciation to the good people of Dome-Kwabenya Constituency especially our hard-working Polling Station Executives for the opportunity to represent their interests and aspirations in the august house of Parliament in the last 12 years. It has been a real honour and privilege working for and with you on matters and issues that border on our common interests and for which I do not take lightly. From the depths of my heart, I say Thank You.
For the next few months, I remain dedicated to working collaboratively with the Leadership of the party in the constituency in collectively pursuing goals to unite us for the task ahead in campaigning to maximize our votes for both Parliamentary and Presidential candidates and in Parliament, to execute Government business expeditiously.
Sincerely,
HON. SARAH ADWOA SAFO
MP, DOME-KWABENYA CONSTITUENCY

Madam tiktok, shebi una mind dey now? Your eye don clear, abi? For this y3y3 independent talk no try am sef. Una go loose una voting id card sef if you try am. Walai!
Hahahaaaa, like you would have seen your real size. What do you take the people of Dome Kwabenya for? Your slaves? Nobody forced you to stand for MP , it was a personal decision you took by swearing an oath to represent the people of Dome Kwabeyna. On trust they gave you the opportunity to represent them 3 terms non stop which you know saw as your birth right. Thank God they have proven to you that power resides in their hands not yours . Now you are free to stay outside the country for the rest of your life, your whereabouts is now a non starter. Go and sin no more. If you were cognizant of the fundamental principles that underpin the NPP, you won't be misbehaving . Go and continue going to anywhere you want to go to. Bye bye.
Of course, you were surprised at the extent of the revolt against you. There will come a time where politicians in this country can't take the electorate for granted anymore. Your decision to not go independent has got nothing to do with this bombastic internal nansense you are talking about but you are faced with the stark reality that you will loose massively if you attempt. Sorry but the goodwill of the people which you took for granted is depleted.
