Frederick Opare-Ansah, a former Member of Parliament for Suhum constituency, has refuted claims attributed to Kennedy Agyapong that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has distributed pickup vehicles to woo delegates to vote for him in the New Patriotic Party's November 4 presidential election.
According to Mr. Opare-Ansah, he has sighted a video where Kennedy Agyapong is accusing the Vice President of inducing the delegates with pickups but describes the claims as "white lies".
He, however, noted that giving pickups for campaign purposes is a normal feature, so he wondered why Mr. Agyapong would kick up a fuss about it.
"Who goes into a national campaign in Ghana who doesn't buy pickups and distribute them for the purpose of prosecuting his campaign?", he questioned.
He also accused Kennedy Agyapong of equally purchasing pickups for his campaign team members, revealing that one of them, whom he mentioned as 'Chairman Short', once gave him a ride in the branded pickup.
"Kennedy Agyapong, himself, has bought a pickup for the Tamale North Chairman, Chairman Short. He has bought a pickup for the Assistant Secretary of Savannah. He has bought a pickup for the Assistant Secretary of Upper East. I can go on and on to mention the names of his people that he has bought pickups for, and all this was before the Special Delegates Election," he disclosed.
Speaking to host Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's morning show "Kokrokoo", Mr. Opare-Ansah warned Kennedy Agyapong to stop spreading lies about the Vice President.
"The propagation of lies, raw lies, which lead people to begin to think in a certain way about our party is not good. I have seen a video in which my big brother, Ken, claims we distributed pickups to people and so forth; all of these are white lies."

I don't understand why NPP allowed Ken to destroy their party. The party is not attractive to Ghanaians anymore due to Ken's unfounded allegations, insults and unprofesional behaviour. He is taking the party into oposition but the leaders are not acting. Ken has already sorted out his feud with JDM so that he can continue to have contracts should JDM come to power in 2024. A typical selfish and unpatriotic businessman.
Ken had stated he bought 250 pick ups for NPP during the 2016 general elections. Was this gesture done to influence voters to vote for npp? Anyway what happened to the vehicles after the elections
Keep labelling Ghanaians as NDC, it will clear your eyes on December 7th. You may think your rigging agenda will save you, we will see what will happen God willing.
Ei, Nationlover paa nie! The fear of Bawumia is everywhere in NDC!
I don't know why anyone would want to vote for Bawumia. In terms of delivery, he's proven to be incompetent, he is not strong willed and is being tossed about by the establishment and they have corrupted him ruthlessly. You can tell this by his desperation and that of his wife. It shows in how he's organised huge amounts of monies to buy elections. It shows in how he's trying hard to tell the public that he's modest by using the bus strategy for his rounds and hiding his expensive lifestyle. A humble, good and intelligent people with love and vision for their country, will not keep silent, enjoy and celebrate people's eyes being slashed in favour of their elections. Ghana is already lagging behind by many decades, we cannot continue to derail building our nation diligently with serious minded and selfless, incorruptible leaders. No more time to waste, the era for deceivers and con people are over, we need truly honest and practical people. Besides, the way Bawumia has condescended, throwing away his islamic principles and fallen for power, I've no doubt that he can do anything to satisfy the needs of a few crooks for power. I've no doubt he can work with evil people to sow the seeds of religious dominance agenda as happened to Nigeria, Turkey, Nazareth many years ago. Ghanaians must be careful with people who sacrifice their integrity for power, else we will soon be where Nigeria and other countries are currently.
A vote for Dr Bawumia is a vote for the constitution of hardships, continuation of gallamsey, continuation of youth unemployment, continuation of corruption, an extension of Nana Addo, A vote for Dr Bawumia is an invitation of Biko haram into the country, Delegates please think about your future and the future of the country, vote for Hon Ken for job opportunities, vote for freedom and justice. Hon Ken has done a lot for the party and the country, his contribution to the party and the country is unmatched. Delegate please think about the future, majority of the party leaders campaigning for Dr Bawumia are very corrupt individuals. Vote against the system candidate delegate please, a word to the wise is enough.
