The NDC Member of Parliament for North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said President Akufo-Addo has saved the suffering Ghanaian taxpayer a whopping €480,000 (GH₵ 6.5Million) by avoiding his "favourite profligate luxury chartered jet" in his recent travels.
According to the North Tongu MP, his unimpeachable tracking of President Akufo-Addo's latest travel to the Munich Security Conference in Germany and AU meetings in Addis Ababa, he used Ghana's Presidential Jet (Dassault Falcon 900 EX) for the entire 17hr: 53minute flight time.
"This is the prudent presidential conduct Ghanaians have been demanding for years, a sensitive and frugal leadership which could have saved over GH₵100million and perhaps averted the current economic crisis," he said, adding that, "we hope President Akufo-Addo continues on this refreshing path till he leaves office."
He posted on his twitter page Monday afteroon.

@Leviticus, as a good citizen, take him to the special prosecutor or EOCO with your evidence. Talk is now cheap in Ghana because of the social media. Also do not rely on the ignorance of the MP Ablakwa, the fact that the president did not hire a plane for the trip does means there is no cost to the state. Using the presidential jet may even cost more than hiring one.
Agymifuo, someone is chopping and misusing your money and another is keeping him in check and you raise against the latter. Won gymie yia wo b3 y3 sei
Rubbissh! After the millions of dollars that Akuffo Addo has stolen, how can Hon. Ablakwa praise him for 'saving' a paltry 6.5 million cedis? Fiafi tor!
In love with you Ablakwa. Keep it up, after all the could be millions save if he had listened. Kudos Hon.
Executive oversight...keep on doing the good work the country has elected you to do Ablakwa. Not only your colleagues in parliament should emulate your bravery job serving as a check on possible abuses of power by the most powerful, but a duty to every Ghanaian.
Is Ablakwa not tired of this petiness
Ablakwa is becoming annoying with this travel commentary.
Ablakwa are you being paid as a member of parliament? God have mercy
