Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, has asked Ghanaians to have good faith in President Nana Akufo-Addo and his administration.
Speaking to Nana Yaw Kesseh on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" Friday morning, Dr. Okoe Boye noted that the government is fully aware of the economic pressures on the citizenry and doing everything possible to ameliorate the situation.
He assured the citizens that the President hasn't gone to sleep but working assiduously to ensure the high prices of petroleum products coupled with high prices in commodities as a result of the cedi to dollar rate and the fact that Ghana doesn't refine its own fuel, are all remedied to bring a big relief to Ghanaians.
He pleaded with the populace to be patient with the Akufo-Addo government.
"We know when petrol prices go up, it affects everything but we plead with you that since we don't refine it here like we manufacture water, cassava here but rather buy it from abroad, they increasing it will definitely affect us. However, just as President Akufo-Addo once said, we want to assure you that this too shall pass," he stated.

The president is fast asleep
@Kwame, you should be ashamed of yourself. Why can’t you just make your submissions without resorting to insults.
Okoe Boye, how come under the same Covid 19 and the Russia vrs Ukraine war fuel is much cheaper in Burkina Faso compared to Ghana. Is it a shame to say that we drill crude oil in Ghana but we don't refine it here. What is the use of the Tema oil refinery? Again the fact that crude oil prices keep rising in the oil market means Ghana is making a lot of gains. Why can't the government divide the huge profits it's making from the oil exports and use 1/3 to cushion the Ghanaian consumer. Who are the beneficiaries of the profits Ghana is making. We are now in an era of ICT so the world has become small, one can sit in his or her room and get to know what's happening around the world. Fact is Ghanaians had high hopes in Akuffo Addo to turn things round for the better unfortunately almost all those who had trust and confidence in him have been let down. It's like nobody is in control. He has only succeeded in making Mahama look like a saint. Akuffo Addo was a key cabinet minister under John kufour and he saw how kufour went about issues, why can't he do the same. He used kufour's policies to ride on to the presidency. The fact that Akuffo Addo got 49% in the first round of the 2008 elections tell you the NPP was still the popular choice of Ghanaians after 8 years in power. Can same be said about Akuffo Addo's government today? Okoe Boye from the bottom of your heart you know the government keeps falling every day. Go to the grassroots and listen to the rank and file of the NPP . They feel let down and are disappointed big time. An elephant with very big ears unfortunately it doesn't listen, at best it hears but won't listen. How will any listening government bank it's Hope in a tax that can be avoided legally, if i don't send money electronically i don't pay E-levy, it's that simple. Akuffo addo seems to have forgotten so soon that it's the people who made him a president, he didn't make Ghanaians to qualify to vote. Kufour knew he was not coming back after 8 years in power but that didn't stop him from working hard to make the NPP attractive, what is akuffo addo doing to also make the NPP attractive, absolutely nothing. What he and his appointees does is to annoy Ghanaians with their utterances . He's has come to destroy the NPP because he has gotten what he wants. Some of us have regretted for championing his ambition. Rather unfortunate
***barred word*** man like that. You don’t buy fuel. If you were buying it you won’t be talking rubbish. ***barred word*** ***barred word*** GA man. Ony3 soomi
