Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central constituency, Hon Isaac Adongo, has described the NPP government as one of the most useless administrations the country has ever witnessed in its governance history.
According to him, the government seem clueless about providing Ghanaians with a tangible solution in these dire economic times.
Speaking on Okay FM's Ade Akye Abia programme, he lamented that Ghana’s cedi has been on a depreciation spree since the beginning of this year.
As of Friday, March 10, 2022, the dollar was selling at GH¢7.65 and it gradually breaking the eight (8).
The NDC MP, whiles accusing the Bank of Ghana of lying to Ghanaians about the state of the country’s dollar reserves, also took a dig at the economic credentials of the Vice-President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia.
". . The man who has gone mute why don't you call him? the one who went about bragging that he's the economic guru and knows everything about our currency and has arrested the dollar . . . now the dollar has arrested him and he has gone mute . . . I'm talking about Bawumia, his disgrace will be more than any President in history, he just brags but don't know anything . . ." he told Kwame Nkrumah 'Tikese'.
He says government knows how to contact them for economic advice if they want.
". . They are not even thinking inside the box, let alone to say thinking outside the box, that a whole government machinery in 5 months if e-levy doesn't come they have no other solution . . . this is the most useless government I have ever seen . . . " he slammed.

CEDI DEPRECIATION: Our Capital Depleted By 16% Since December 2021 - GUTA
Meanwhile, the Ghana Union of Trade Association (GUTA) has expressed worry over the rapid depreciation of the cedi against major trading currency, the US Dollar.
A statement issued and signed by the President of the Union, Dr. Joseph Obeng, stated that the situation is taking a heavy toll on the capital of its members and wreaking havoc on businesses and the consuming public.
“From December 2021 to date, our capital has been depleted by about 16 percent. In December 2021, when the rate of the cedi to the dollar was GH¢6.4, a trader could use GH¢640,000 to buy US$100,000. Today, as the rate is about GH¢7.6 to a dollar, the same GH¢640,000 can buy only GH¢84,000, thereby making a loss of US$16,000 which is the 16 percent depletion,” GUTA explained.
The Association further bemoaned that “If a trader still wants to buy US$100,000, they will need an additional GH¢120,000 to top up within this short period.”
GUTA president, Dr. Joseph Obeng who described the situation as alarming, therefore appealed to government to find urgent solutions to curtail the further depreciation of the local currency against major trading currencies in order to save businesses and the economy at large.

Gyimeaiii saaaaaa every day Adongo
Is it worse than a gov't that made us sleep in power rationing and darkness for over four years with businesses collapsing, people dying from generator fumes, when even those who couldn't afford had to find means of buying electric generators?
ADONGO IS THE MOST USE ......LESS SO CALLED ECONOMIST I HAVE ACCROSS IN MY LIFE
Adongo ***barred word*** is the must ***barred word*** person ever lived.
Hon. Isaac Adongo is sharing and speaking from political ignorance of not knowing the golbal happenings with the tantum of the "war in Ukraine" and the battling with the Covid Pandemic now in China. How can you as educated as you are just sit at the FM Studio and talk like Tilapia swimming under water. This is lack of political and scientific research fom Adongo who is representing his constituency as a law maker in ghanas parliament. The "tantum war in ukriane" has affected and changed the world. In Germany and many european countries prices of petrol has hit very high and prices of goods have shot up unexpectedly. Just for your education purposes, ghana is part of the global economic struggling and is also impacted with the effects of the "tantum war" in Easten Europe.
The cedi to dollar in 2009 was 1:20 , ndc 8years to 2017 was 4:40, in percentage points was over 300% . Npp from 2017 cedi from 4:40 to 8:40 in five years is 100% . To me comparing the ndc 300% in 8 years to Npp 5 years, I can say Adongo is wearing taabbooo glasses forgotten what is happening in the world, maybe he is death and blind to do such analysis. Your family members are enjoying free shs, government is doing interchange in your northern region which your most useelesss ndc couldn’t dream of. Such a person calling himself honorable, tweaaaaaa
The sad aspect of Mr Adongo's simplification of economic matters is that he is fixated on an all fits all analysis without taking into consideration individual indices. At least if sincere and astute as he claims he is he would be much broad minded and capture a global outlook as Dr Duffuor does. Anyway you can't blame the financial Wizardry of Adongo.
In a way, I'm being proved right in my assertion that most of the NDC cohorts and big shots are what they are today because they could articulate rubbish and insults in the name of politics and be appointed ministers of state. In recent times, they seem to be exposed as being not competent in those positions by virtue of their poor logic, argumentation and academic discourse. You can take it from the boys with sharp teeth to the parliament, where the value is seemingly the same. They are a desperate political party without a political message; theirs is malicious, cheap propaganda, falsehoods, and insults to political opponents
