General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, says the recently announced Electronic Transactions Levy by government is just a means to fund the President's luxurious foreign trips.
According to Mr Nketia, that particular tax will surely impose furrher hardships on the already suffering Ghanaian masses.
He told NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ that government will sure use the Momo tax to pay for the US$14,000-an-hour LX-DIO aircraft so President Akufo-Addo can travel in his usual luxurious Russian-oligarch-style.
"....i am disappointed in this Nana Addo-led government....the public show of opulence at the expense of the poor Ghanaian taxpayer is insulting...he has failed to be frugal with our monies when it comes to his foreign trips," Mr Asiedu Nketia slammed.

Too porous and irrelevaaant for Ghana's progress.
I wonder why does this man talks ***barred word*** like that, because I am the same age of this Aseidu Nketiia. But, when I talk, I make sure what I'm saying is sensible, unlike Aseidu Nketiia talking foolishness all the time.
This is a joker and a concert man, ignore him Ghanaians.
This man is the main achitect behind dirty politics in Ghana. Tell us what you and JDM also used condom tax for.
So this good for nothing 95 year old looking Asiedu Nketsiah will continue in this ***barred word*** acting until he dies? If you are saying that the president Akuffo Addo wants to raise taxes to fund his luxury trips, then let me ask you, who is funding the speaker of parliament Alban Bagbin medical check up trip to Dubai? What about the cost of former President Mahaha’s numerous trips and vacations outside the country, including his medical abroad? What about the changing of Mahama’s government allocated vehicles every 4 years. Don’t throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians mr. old rusty general secretary
waaa look? smh
If ndc is the political party that we Ghanaians are expecting to rule us as a nation then we have long way to go if they're serious party they should give us an alternative how we should mobilize funds to build our country
The NDC as a political party, given its attitude towards the practice of democracy in the fourth republic of Ghana, has been that of cosmetic measures to keep it in power to seize and plunder the resources of the nation, but not for the general good of its people per se. Saying this, I have in sight the numerous uncoordinated and not properly planned exorbitant projects like the Dubai interchange, the sugar plant and the E-blocks projects, just to mention a few. And it is instructive to note that most of the projects are rushed to be executed shortly before elections. Now, just look at how they are out there in their numbers, like hunting dogs with sharp teeth, doing all sorts of malacious propaganda to get first political power, and then everything will be added to it, so to speak. Then, they just have nothing to show, so they don't campaign on achievements, the green book was not successful so what else?
