The General Secretary of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr John Boadu, has condemned the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leadership for inciting the youth to hit the streets in protest to the outcome of the just-ended general elections.
According to Mr Boadu, the children of former President John Mahama, who got defeated for the second time by President Nana Akufo-Addo, must join the street protests sparked by the NDC, since, according to him, they are meant to inure to the “selfish” interest of their father.
Addressing a press conference on Tuesday, 15 December 2020, Mr Boadu indicated that Mr Mahama should have asked his children, who are wallowing in comfort, to join the youth marching on the streets against the results.
“We won't allow someone because of his selfish interest and because he wants to contest the elections again, he says children should hit the streets and make noise. Then his children must also join but they are living in comfort in this country, some of them are outside the country,” Mr Boadu noted.
“So, if Ghana burns, you and I and our children will suffer”, he said.
“I don't think we must condone such statements,” he added.
He, therefore, called on the National Peace Council, National House of Chiefs, Civil Society Organisations and the media to tell Mr Mahama to concede defeat and accept the outcome of the polls.
“Even the media houses: don't sit on the fence. Tell him point blank that he has lost the elections and, so, he should concede,” Mr Boadu noted.

Ghanas political ups and downs is been involved about 85% of the Ghanaian youth. From the period of the CPP government, named the "Verande Boys" throughought till today. Much of ghanas political development had been activated from the youth wings of the various party politics. Most of the grassroots politics in Ghana are manourvered and worked out by the youht. Unfortunately the ghanaian youth in todays politics are been manipulated and been used by the political elites of thier parties. Its much interesting to note that these youth wings will be used, with money, assorted hard drinks of all kinds and will be promised heavely and earth when their party comes into grips of political powers of administration. So therefore as youth wings of the political party, they sacrifice much of their time and energy, been ready to fight and sharing their blood for their political elites. In all these various demonstrations of the youth wings of such political parties, one beginns to question the where about of children of these political wings. Where are their children and familys. One political commentator responded: " They are not in the country. All the children of the political elites are studying out side Ghana, walking on the streets of London, Toronto, Berlin, Frankfurt, Berlin, Chicago, Dubai" etc. It has always been the question. Why the children of the political elites are not involved in political demonstrations and campaingnes on the streets of Accra, Kumas, Tamale, Bolga and Cape Coast just to name a few. So my fellow ghanaian youth, stop and think. Dont allow yourself to be used and maipulated by the political elites for their selfish interest. After all, when they get into power and acquired their political positions, they will not even pick yous calls not to talk of visiting you at your sick bed. Thank You
Is just an advice you can ignore it and die for John Mahama, who cares?
