Former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has said that government eased the various restrictions put in place to fight COVID-19 to give an opportunity to the NPP to run its Presidential and Parliamentary Primaries.
Akufo-Addo in his tenth address to the country said Ghana is currently running phased ease of measures put in place to fight the deadly COVID-19.
As a result, religious activities have started across the country although some Churches that seem not to be ready have decided to continue with their virtual services.
But speaking in a virtual address to the citizens of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama said government did not decide to phase out the measures in fighting the deadly virus because it took consideration of the people but rather to satisfy its parochial interest.
He said the strategy of this government is to seek head immunity because they had lost the battle to contain the virus so they decided to open up the country and ease things so people could go out.
He said if a lot of people get infected of the virus, the virus will have nowhere else to go and it will disappear.
He said the country’s figures continue to go up because of the government’s approach of seeking head immunity adding that countries that have taken this strategy have recorded outrageous number of deaths and there is therefore the need to use the right strategy.
John Dramani Mahama said government needs to seek expert advise and stop dabbling in narrow political interest.
“I know that the easing and all is to create a conducive environment so that the EC can go ahead with their new register and the NIA can continue with their issuance of the Ghana card and of course so that the ruling party the NPP can hold their congress to elect their flagbearer and Parliamentary candidates," he said.

Mr MAHAMA, DO YOU KNOW MANY WERE HAPPY IT WAS SHORTENED BECAUSE OF YOUR UTTERANCES? AMID THE REGULATIONS TO ALLOW THE GOVERNMENT AGENTS TO DO THEIR WORK, YOU AND YOUR COHORTS FELT YOU HAD PEN-ULTIMATE RIGHT TO GO BLOW YOUR HORNS. AND YOU DO NOT HAVE SHAME, BUT COMPLAIN.
And so what? Why don't you used the same opportunity to launch your manifesto and vice candidate?
NDC members must advise their lone ranger flag-bearer to chose a running mate instead of the ***barred word*** noises being made in the air waves. You can cease the same opportunity to electing your parliamentary candidates and all needed executives to support your campaign so what are you waiting for?
DON,T TALK TOO MUCH BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT COMING AGAIN-JDM.IF WE VOTE FOR YOU WAYOME WILL GET ALL HIS PROPERTIES BACK,BADU KOBI WILL GROW WINGS,NIGEL GAISIE WILL CONTINIE HIS KILLINGS,your ministers will continue taking DOUBLE SALARIES, KOMENDA SUGAR FACTORY WOULD BE LEFT UN ATTENDED AND YOU WILL COLAPSE THE ECONOMY.
SO JM KNOWS THERE'S COVID-19, BUT DID NOT FIND IT NECESSARY TO ADVICE HIS FOLLOWERS NOT TO BESIEGE AT THE CID'S HEADQUARTERS WHEN BENARD MONAH WAS INVITED. THIS IS HYPOCRISY AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. YOU CANNOT WIN ELECTION COVID 19.
John mahama....hahahaa I feel sad for him. Anyway if Ghanaians vote for him again, that's their problem.
wopana that ooo. charlie me ma wo airbus ooo!!! ye gye me yaa ford
President John Dramani Mahama, the competent and visionary leader, continue to bring out the best for Ghana. NPP Government, Dr. Bawumia and President Akuffo Addo, the liability government ever recorded in the history books of Ghana.
Childish talk. So desperate for power that anything garbage he will spew. If tat is the case then, why are allowing your party executives travel far and wide to radio stations for political shows. Hypocrisy at it's highest order. Mind you! very soon the Airbus scandal will come hanging around your neck. I wish you could talk about that too to clear the doubts in our heads
Your NDC and NPP, who has benefited more from the lifting of the restrictions? How many press briefings have the NDC organised since the restrictions were eased? Indeed, you were the first to hold a press conference the very next day after the President lifted the lockdown the previous night. Go get a life!
