The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has given the ruling government a high mark for various measures put in place to curb the novel covid-19 pandemic.
The government of Ghana as part of efforts to fight the coronavirus put in place some measures including mandatory quarantine for overseas travellers, ban on public gatherings and a partial lockdown of Greater Accra, Kasoa and Greater Kumasi.
Speaking to this in an interaction on Neat FM, John Boadu believes the ruling government needs commendation because had those measures not been put in place, Ghana's story would have been bad.
"In terms of rating, I would give government 120 percent," he averred.
Ghana Extends Lockdown For One More Week

Even Virtual concerts have been politicized.
Why is the recovery rate too low in Ghana compared to other African countries. 4 have recovered and 8 have died in Ghana. The ratio of Recovery to Death on Covid in Ghana is 1:2. Meaning if 100 is admitted and 30 recovers 60 would die.
You are big moron. You have 566 cases in your country and you are scoring yourself 120%. Are you correct? You and boadu are in the same myopic mind class. Because nigeria is bigger than Ghana and have tested fewer than Ghana, we should mark you 120%. Are you that fuuuulish?
The earlier we the politicians stop making such statements the better it is for all of us. let us get united and fight the treat from all fronts. Politicians must provide the citizenry some space during this critical period. Let us all change our behavior.
I agree with John Boadu. Looking at the statistics, Ghana (37954 tests) is the second country to test more people for the virus with 566 positive cases after South Africa (80085 tests) with 2173. Egypt has conducted 25000 test with 2025 positive cases, Algeria-3359 tests with 1914 positive cases, Morocco-8959 tests with 1746 positive cases, Tunisia-11238 tests with 707 positive cases, Nigeria-5000 tests with 323 positive cases and Rwanda-1966 tests with 126 positive cases. This means that the more a country tests for the virus, the more positive cases it uncovers. However, apart from South Africa which has conducted more tests than Ghana, all other African countries have more cases than Ghana in real terms or in relative terms with reference to the number of tests conducted and the number of positive cases identified. This is an indication that Ghana is almost ahead of the virus. If more test were not performed, most of the 566 cases would have filtered into the communities to continue to infect other people. Truly, government has done very well.
Incredible and Laughable. It appears the NPP has set up its own marking scheme to assess and grade itself. The Party should continue to "play the ostrich" by pretending to behave nothing wrong is happening. Today, Ghana has recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases in West Africa and yet you score yourselves 120 percent. It seems this Party is living on another planet.
John Boadu, are you hallucinating? 120 percent for this display of incompetence? Is ankaful mental hospital full? I think you belong there.
You are out of your mind. I wouldn't score you even 35%. Go and continue drinking your apio.
Ha ha ha, 120 percent indeed. Not even countries which have done excellently well to contain the spread would give themselves that marks. Go and listen to Bishop Day Heard Mills again. You have kicked against every sound advise from all well meaning ghanaians including think-tank groups. Today Ghana's total Covid-19 cases is the highest in West Africa. Why don't you score yourselves 2200 percent? This NPP Party.
Stop the propaganda, don't be deceived. the same thing NDC did to ex president Mahama is being repeated- infrastructure bulldozer and all the praises yet they were stealing. Continue to give the president 180% while some of the party members see ongoing as an advantage to milk the situation at the expense of the poor, no checks on how many communities are being fed. Still no water to needy areas yet water bill is free for 3 months. Who is co-ordinating what. media publicity is politicized- President should not have been at the forefront- only announce to the nation at night no one ask questions/no answers. If we dont succeed in the fight, the president would be blamed as a failed leader
