Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has alleged that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is ‘rejoicing’ over the outbreak of the Coronavirus in Ghana.
Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, he said “what we have heard from them (NDC) is that they prayed for this COVID-19 and they were even happy that the COVID was here”.
According to him utterances from some communication members of the NDC show that “they prayed for COVID-19 cases to occur” in Ghana.
“A deputy Communications Officer said we will see how the voters’ register will be compiled in the wake of the pandemic and he has not been condemned, and you think that if they were not rejoicing behind closed doors, he will come out to speak the way he did? And to top it up, the General Secretary said measures being put together in curbing this pandemic is intended to rig the 2020 election,” he said.
He concluded that it is right to believe and assume that they are happy with what is going on and their utterances.

Kwamina, what would you have said if you were in opposition??
The fight against sstupidity in Africa is more difficult than the fight against this pandemic. Waaa look at a whole minister! All it takes to be a minister.
Minister, you have truly shown your ignorance. Who prayed for it in the first place? Please Ghanaians are not jokers. If the president had listened to advice to close the boarders and even ceased the 'to and from' of flights at the initial stage I don't think this viral disease would spread like a harmattan fire. Do your research very well. We are fed up with these cheap propaganda. This is absolutely ***barred word***. Look, this is a time for serious thinking and coming out with better ideas and not taking Ghanaians for a ride. If you don't know, go and look for the ID2020.

This man is ***barred word*** he doesn't deserve to be minister
Hon Regional Minister, Pls this is below the belt. As an Academician, you are expected to know better and educate your subjects. The COVID-19 pandemic does not know political colours. It's affecting people irrespective of your social status, etc. Pls display some seriousness and maturity is your discourse. Your utterances is making the NPP party unpopular. This is a time for UNITY. No politicization. Mr President,is there no better alternative? Need some urgent reshuffle.
Ghana is fighting 3 pandemics - 1. coronavirus, 2, STUPIDIIITY, 3, IGNORANCE from the very officials we expect to know better. How do we win this fight against comic officials at the forefront
***barred word*** talk
A careful observation of his unguarded utterances on radio will tell you that he normally gets the bullish vim to display his Fante theatric comedies when the host Sefa Kayi, Kwaku Baako and Allotey Jacobs urge him on. How could have Ghana stood out unaffected in this global pandemic. If the govt had earlier heeded to the advise from all and sundry to take certain precautionary measures, the situation would not have reached this far. All because it will not take advise from NDC.
