The controversies surrounding the compilation of a new voters' register is far from over as the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided to go to court.
The Electoral Commission insists there is a need for a new register but the NDC and other stakeholders believe otherwise. According to the opposition party, everything the EC is doing is deliberately paving way for the ruling NPP to retain power.
Reacting to this on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr., described the new voters' register brouhaha as a storm in a teacup.
He disclosed that the 'intent' to compile a new voters register, started when Madam Charlotte Osei was the chairperson of the EC.
"Institutional memory…if the previous management had an intent of changing the voters' register, I think we don’t go looking for personalities because as at June 30, 2017, the EC had begun to contemplate for a new register," he pontificated.
Meanwhile, he has commended the NDC for deciding to go to court.

When at all is this old man going to be a bit objective
And if the court says the EC can go on with a new register, what will the NDC do? It's like my friend telling me not to replace my shock absorbers when knows what happens as we drive along!
This man has no credibility left. Her is back from the US where he spends his slush funds.
What at all has the NDC done to the old register that it sounds sucidal at the mention of a new register? Enough of your unnecessary noise. Allow EC to do it's mandated work in peace.
sny ed10.t can go to court. like they want the EC to pave the way for them to come but and continue with their ***barred word*** schemes? dem no well. u shd be taking GO1 to court instead because he is the one who has paved the way for to loose.
It's strange how the NPP attaches and justifies everything it wants to do to the past activities of the NDC which it succeeded because it was incompetent which affected the roles of Charlotte Osei as EC Commisioner. Why then do you continue with something she started?
The problem that the NDC has is that the compilation of the new register is not being undertaken by the EC elected by the NDC. All the brouhaha of the NDC can be told to the marines but not to any rightful thinking Ghanaian. We have had enough of the NDCs' bullshits. The intimidation of the NDC goes to buttress the point that there is something suspicious about the existing voters register that is best known to the NDC alone; otherwise, they wouldn't behave the do and die, the way they want Ghanaians to believe in.
I listened to the show on Peace FM, where Sammy Gyamfi grilled Kweku Baaoko to the hilt. The host Kwame Sefa was characteristically very biased against Sammy and favoured his friends Mr Baako and Kwamena Duncan on the show. He at a time even said Sammy Gyamfi should not scream on the show; something very known for Kwamena Duncan. Such a biased host, at least on that particular show. Kweku Baako quoted minutes which only stated views of one attendee (Fin Dir) of that meeting and so how did that constitute a resolution by the EC?
The time is very short and EC should listen to people than to rush. Kwaku Baako Jr do not look at your chop chop matters and bring this country into chaos .We have no where to go than Ghana.
where did this man go? he is back with his usual puput))))))
