The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has decided to take part in a voter registration exercise should the Electoral Commission decide to go ahead with its decision to compile a new voters' register.
However, there is a caveat. There will be something akin to a legal challenge should the NDC fail to regain power.
The NDC is on record to have kicked against a new voters roll for this year's elections. Several renowned opposition party figures have made their voices heard on the matter.
As if that is not enough, the NDC, rallied some other political parties together, and form a coalition dubbed Interparty Resistance Against New Voters Register.
The coalition has so far held two demonstrations in Tamale and Kumasi, to press home their demand to maintain the current register. This has led many to believe that the biggest opposition party might likely boycott any registration exercise towards the compilation of a new voters register.
A leading member of the party and one-time Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale, says they will take part in the exercise but will contest the election 2020 results should it not go in their favour.
"Nkrumah (Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah) said never boycott any election and so we will take part in the election. We will write our names and take part in the election; if we win, fine but if we don’t we will not accept it," he said while speaking during a panel discussion on the "Platform" programme on Peace FM hosted by Nana Yaw Kesseh.

In what capacity is he speaking? Is he a party leader or spokesperson?
if the Ec didn't change their mind then they want to steal the election for NPp 2020 ,if all the political parties have protested against new volter register and you steal want to do then they want to steal completely
A band of jokers indeed! How many countries have had the re election of their past presidents? I may count Nigeria as one and may still consider Ghana for the transition from military to civilian and democratic rule but I dont think Ghanaians are ready for the return of JDM.
