"The promises have not been kept", private legal practitioner John Ndebugri has observed in his assessment of the three-year-old Akufo-Addo government.
"That is how I will summarise it", he told Class FM on Wednesday, 18 December 2019 when asked to grade the current government.
In his view, the recent 48 per cent grading of the government by think tank IMANI Africa, as far as the over 500 campaign promises of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are concerned, is underserving of the Akufo-Addo government.
"I cannot agree" with the IMANI score, the former Zebilla MP said, adding: "I don't even agree with IMANI".
"It must be less", Mr Ndebugri insisted, explaining: "They [IMANI] talk about 500-and-something promises, and the way they approached it is where I think they did some favour to the government because if you take, for example, the introduction of Free Senior High School, they say it has been introduced and they give full marks for that but how about the impact it has had?"
"How about the double-track or whatever, where it has been reported that girls who had gone and stayed at home during the double-track system, a lot of them have become pregnant and, so, their education has to be interrupted?" he wondered.
"The senior high school one is even better but there are others: One District-One Factory, a list was just put out a few days ago that 58 are up and running. There is a story from Kumasi that one place that was listed as having been completed and employed over 500 workers is bare land. So, if IMANI depended on that 58 figure and gave them 48 marks, it's misleading, isn't it?
"So, as far as I'm concerned, it is not even for us as individuals to determine; in 2020, which is not far away, the promises have to be repeated and then during the campaign cycle, people will pose questions. So, we shouldn't be in a hurry, the real mark, as the President himself said, would be given on 7 December 2020", Mr Ndebugri noted.

An acre Lawyer can you fulfill 500 promises within 3 years. As a Private Legal Practitioner how many cases have you received from your clients and how many have you won from January to December, 2019.
Typical Ghanaian Talk we cannot talk issues and be objective about it for as patriotic citizens.? We are pathetic, NPP supporters always bootlicking their leaders and defending them and insulting everyone who dares to question them on promises they themselves have made and NDC sympathizers also over criticising and being petty and showing absolutely no alternatives whatsoever!!! When are we going to realise that our stomachs are linked so we don't need to fight over food? SMH
If Mr Bentil is a member of IMANI and now turned defending the govt that is how the grade should be
You see the thinking of some people who are supposed to know better? Ndebugri is talking like the boy Sammy Gyamfi.
YOU ARE RIGHT 2020 HE WILL GET HIS MARK ***barred word*** AKYEM MAFIA
I wonder why people expect that when you outline a vision saying 1D-1F, then you must necessarily provide every district with a factory at the end of 3 years! And if you have not done that you have failed. Where from this thinking? Meanwhile, Ndebugri has not mentioned any promise that has not been tackled, yet you make a sweeping statement that Nana Addo has not kept his promises. Amazing! Funny enough even people who promised to build 200 schools, and only ended up building less than 30 after 4 years, are also making noise that Nana Addo has not fulfilled his promise. I just cannot think far on this.
Nedbugre is old but sebe sebe aka nyanso no kakra If you want to make an assessment you based it on what you have heard not what you have seen. So children getting pregnant double track is the problem? How about the numbers that ordinarily would have been sitting at home but are in school? Will they have been pregnant? Which of the options is better? Is that your logic. My son is benefiting and i have not paid a dime. 1D1F even if they build one factory it is enough for me because we never had it and we would not have had it. No wonder in 1983 Rawlings made them shave you.
