Former Deputy Finance Minister, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey has said the Akufo-Addo administration inherited a strong economy with two main oil fields yet the government claims it inherited a weak economy.
The MP for Ketu South Constituency also uttered that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration bequeathed an economy free from energy crisis to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
Speaking at the NDC’s forum on the 2020 budget statement and economic policy presented to Parliament by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta, on 13 November 2019, Mr Kwetey said : “The government that has had the most solid economic legacy is the Nana Akufo-Addo government so for them to actually claim that they have inherited the greatest crisis is really a big surprise.” In his opinion, “it is only an irresponsible, incompetent, lazy group of people who will blame their predecessors. We (Ghana) would have been in the high heavens if we in the NDC inherited these legacies.”
He continued: “The John Mahama handed over to them two massive oil fields. In 2016, oil production was about 87000 barrels a day and today we are talking about almost 200,000 barrels a day.
“You have these handed over to you yet you said you have inherited an economic mess. Meanwhile your own GDP today is on the basis of those two oil fields that have been handed over to you. Since the 1980s we have always known that every three or so years, we go through an energy crisis. “For the first time in our history the Mahama government handed over to Akufo-Addo a nation that has resolved this energy crisis for good.
“For the first time in our lifetime, we actually had enough power to be able to give electricity to industry and individuals yet our friends call this great legacy economic mess,” he challenged.

Tooloooooooooo beef ana de momonyi
FIIFI IS SIMPLY A PATHETIC MISFIT FOR OUR POLITICS. IT IS SAD HE DEMEANOR IS FRAUGHT WITH SPITE, ANGER, ENVY, HATRED AND ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY HE CREATED SUCH A BEING. I FEEL SO SORRY FOR PEOPLE LIKE THIS BECAUSE THEY SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND LIFE.
When you leave footbridges uncompleted and then build an overhead called Dubai to attract votes, you want to be praised. You will remain in the doldrums. Do you want to come back to take us back to the IMF to worsen the unemployment situation again? We need to cite all these instances to guide us in dealing with the NDC as a political party.
How can you measure success without the past, and without past there is no future.
So this is an insult to Mahama and and Mills. Naneama. Fii attacked Kuffour for all the challenges in NDC government under Mills Mahama.
Under u ,agric grew by 0% for 8 years ***barred word***
Is this not this ***barred word*** who was the deputy finance minister? he thinks managing the Economy is English speaking and propaganda. Fiifi ***barred word*** or Put up
Ah, what is this ***barred word*** talking about? Do they think we don't live in this country or what? I think it would be better for NDC if they learn to keep their mouths shut. We aren't ***barred word*** o......don't be ***barred word*** at all that NDC's performance is comparable to the current govt's. No way! It is highly mediocre to be comparing the 2 since NPP has, so far, out-performed NDC in all aspects of governance. Please leave Ghanaians alone to think and be positive because we are tired of your party's NEGATIVITY!!
I will not mind you. Go back and check why Akkofu Addo told Pfor Mills that if the economy is broke fix it.
You see how people like Fifi Kwetey lie and are hypocrites.Once upon a time somebody described the expanded economy left behind by President Kuffour as being "in intensive care".C the description was not a charitable one.Certainly, the description was not charitable.
