The Accra Regional Elections’ Security Taskforce has been inaugurated with a call on Ghanaians to comport themselves in the upcoming elections to maintain the peace the nation is enjoying.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Frederick Adu Anim, the Accra Regional Police Commander, who made the call, called on all to be law-abiding in not only the District Assemblies’ Elections but also the referendum and the 2020 general elections.
This was made during an interaction with the media in Accra on Thursday.
Observe all the electoral laws, an election is not a fight, if you do not understand anything, go to the appropriate authorities, DCOP Anim said.
He cautioned trouble makers to stay away from places designated for the exercises else, the law would deal ruthlessly with them.
Mr Anim said as the Electoral Commission is planning on how to conduct the exercises, it is incumbent on the taskforce to help bring about peace and urged the public to play their part to maintain the peaceful atmosphere.
The taskforce, which was inaugurated by Mrs Elizabeth Sackey, the Deputy Regional Minister, is made up of heads of all the security agencies.

Thank you very much Mr Commander but please send people who think of Ghana not their political affiliation. Please, deal ruthlessly with trouble makers those who will travel from our region to the other only to cause trouble and please Mr President if anything happen to any St*upid trouble maker ,please with due respect don't set up any commission or Committee to investigate anything that will cause financial lose to the state. What is the sense in paying trouble makers who came down from other region to cause commotion and hurt Ghanaians who live in Ayawaso/Accra ? it diesnt make any sense to me and they should be left out to take care of their hospital expenses and no compensation for their stu*pidity,, why compensate people who wanted to hurt Ghanaians and got hurt themselves ,no sense in that !We should rather give much encouragement and give moral to our security personnel than condemning them and turning them to be the kriminals and setting free and compensating kriminals. Ghana security forces you are our HEROES we love you and continue to protect and defend our beautiful country !
