PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has tasked the leadership of the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) to campaign vigorously and win all the 47 seats in the region during the 2020 polls.
According to him, even though the ruling NPP currently holds 44 of the seats in the region, he has strong conviction that the party has the capacity to sweep all the 47 parliamentary seats in the region in 2020 based on the good works his government is doing for the people.
Addressing the chiefs and people of Drobonso in the Sekyere Afram Plains District during the last day of his three-day tour of the Ashanti Region, the President stated that there was no way that any seat should elude the NPP in its stronghold.
“The Ashanti Region is the NPP’s stronghold and currently we have 44 out of the 47 seats in the region and I am demanding all the 47 seats from the leadership of this party during the next elections,” he openly declared.
President Akufo-Addo said Sekyere Afram Plains, Asawase and Ejura Sekyeredumase seats, which are currently in the hand of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), must fall for the NPP in 2020.
According to him, his government has successfully steered the affairs of state and that has brought about accelerated development in the 47 constituencies in the region and so the NPP deserves all the 47 seats in 2020.
President Akufo-Addo said even though the time for campaign has not yet commenced, he would still entreat the people of Sekyere Afram Plains to vote for Joseph Owusu aka ‘Odenkyem’, who is the NPP’s candidate for 2020.
According to him, Odenkyem, who is the current District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Afram Plains, is the suitable person to lead the constituency to overcome its myriads of challenges and bring prosperity.
Nana’s Tour
President Akufo-Addo during his three-day tour of the region inspected ongoing roads and other projects and urged the contractors to speed up work for the people to get some relief.
On the first day of his tour, he inspected the lake road project, the Onwe bridge project, the removal of four roundabouts from Tech to Ejisu and the Airport Roundabout to Buokrom road in Kumasi, among others.
He also visited the Suame Magazine, where he announced that a 10-kilometre road project in the industrial hub would soon be constructed to help ease the movement of people and goods.
The President also commissioned a second drone centre at Mpanya in the Asante Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti Region, to help improve medical supplies and care for the people.
Also, he visited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace, where he gave the assurance that the deplorable road networks in the region would be tackled very soon.
Again, the President attended Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) meeting, where he announced plans to improve security in the region, especially in the Sekyere Afram Plains area where the Fulani menace is still an issue.

IT IS A COMMON STATEMENT OFTEN MADE BY MOST NPP FOLLOWERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY, THAT "AS FOR ASHANTI REGION THEY ARE IN OUR (NPP) POCKET AND THAT IF EVEN WE (REFERRING TO NPP GOVERNMENT) SLEEPS ON THE JOB WE WILL STILL WIN HANDS DOWN IN ASHANTI REGION. KYIBI OR KYEBI IS OUR FOCUS FOR NOW". THAT I SEEM TO AGREE WITH THE PRESIDENT THAT THEY (NPP PARTY)HAS THE GOODWILL IN ASHATI REGION IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR (NPP) PERFORMANCE IN KUMASI AND ASHANTI IN GENERAL. EVERYTHING GOES IN ASHANTI FOR NPP
You can zoomlion all the seats nationwide for all we care........ You mean to say that "you can not see the thick clouds gathered, even if you can't see kwraa, you no dey feel am"? Papa you even extend your "clearing agency" here and clear all the seats nationwide and sit on them wai!!!
Indeed operation win all 47 seats is a clarion call by H.E The President. Muntaka especially has to forcefully leave parliament in 2021.
Who has taken the job that Mahama created for you? You are not the only youth in the region. We those who understand education and have our younger brothers in schools free of charge, we those who understand the gradual progress achieved in one district one factory, we those who are not lazy but are taken part in planting for food and jobs, we those who understand electricity is needed to create jobs and without it existing jobs collapsed and others in NABCO will ensure that Nana Addo will stay and will do so by sweeping all 47 seats
Let him lose votes in Ashanti region and ultimately lose the general election. Afterall it is clear some of you have short memory as mahama said. You prefer 4 years of Dumsor. Mahama said he has undertake unprecedented road construction and barely 3 years you are crying for roads?. All is needed is patience. A lot should be done but obviously not in 3 years. Your impatience caused a transition from Kuffour to Akuffo addo. Did Mills and Mahama fix the roads. Please lets think deep and stop this ***barred word*** child cry
Don't mind him....he thinks we're blind. We shall show him the where the power like come 2020. The youth in the region has no job to do....and you think all is well... Well,I can't be hungry and still Vote someone who put me in a jobless situation. We in Ashanti region will show you that the POWER belongs to us
Nana why remind us? We are on the ground working. Don't scare our opponents. Just finish the roads and others President Kuffuor left which have been neglected. We are on the ground Nana.
You can sweep all 47 or so seats but the sorry state of the roads here coupled with the lackadaisical attitude which your contractors are working on some(which we know is because you are not paying them)...plus the stalled work on the roads...plus the numerous accidents caused by part construction and destruction of these roads....plus the reduced quality of life we have suffered in this Region due to bad roads causing unecessary traffic will cause YOU AKUFFO ADDO TO LOSE VOTES IN THE ASHANTI REGION. TICKLE YOURSELF AND LAUGH!
