The governing New Patriotic Party has described former President John Mahama’s commiseration with issues pertaining to the law students as an act of pretense.
Last week, the law students embarked on a peaceful protest to reforms in the legal educational system.
The protesters were however prevented from approaching the seat of government, where they had intended to petition President Nana Akufo-Addo, as the police dispersed them by firing rubber bullets and using water cannons, an action the police justified.
The law students then presented a copy of the petition to former President John Mahama.
John Mahama assured the students of a possible dialogue to address their issues.
But speaking to Citi News, the Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party, Yaw Buaben Asamoah, said the former president has no solution to offer.
“The former president, now candidate pretends to be the most sympathetic person when he has had all the opportunity to demonstrate leadership and he couldn’t. I am saying that he is feeding on issues in a way that keeps him thinking that he is pretending to do something for the people involved but he is not doing anything for them,” said Buaben Asamoah.

I'm surprised how John mahama can help them. This man is the most hypocrite in the whole world wide and I don't know what wrong that we did to deserve such a person to be at the helms of affairs.Didn't he know first of all there was something wrong with the law school exams when he imposed himself on Ghanaians after the death of our president? a hypocrite indeed! If in fact john mahama were to be Osagyefo when Gen. Kutu Acheampong asked him to come back to rule after overthrowing the government of Prof. Busia even when he was very ill John mahama would have accepted to come and die on the seat but Osagyefo said NO !he couldn't do it anymore he was terminally ill that time but jihn mahama wouldn't mind if even he had 30 minutes to live ! I've never seen such a power drunk person like this man. Akans are really different! ede3n asem nso ni ! the people have voted you out implying they don't like you and you forcing yourself why don't you like me whether you like me or not its my right to rule you! we will see ! it's a very bad precedent we shouldn't encourage and he must be shown the red card come 2020 to tell other none performers you can't take us for granted, when we vote against you ,you need to respect our decision and stay back and behave as a statesman.
