The National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken exception to what it described as a video purporting to, showing nurses of the Nalerigu Nurses and Midwifery Training College (NMTC) calling for the comeback of former President John Mahama.
The National Youth Organiser of the party, Henry Nana Boakye aka Nana B, yesterday described the said video as a choreography depicting the desperation of the former President and intended to, as he put it, “massage his unpopularity among trainee nurses and Ghanaians in general.”
Proceeding he disclosed that “investigations have revealed that the about 20 young men and women seen in the said video were TEIN ( NDC Students wing) members who were induced financially to put up that play to deceive unsuspecting trainee nurses.”
The statement pointed at separate press statements issued by the management of the NMTC and the school’s SRC, both of which punctured at the integrity of the so-called show.
The school, the youth wing went on ‘has over 2,000 students and that the conduct of the about 20 students does not reflect the position and sentiments of the entire student population.”
The statement explained that in the said video “the students were instructed by persons that accompanied former President Mahama, to kneel down in the scorching sun and render apology to him ostensibly for voting against him in 2016.”
This the youth wing described as “inhumane and cruel treatment meted out to the students for which the former President should render an apology to the victims and their parents.”
President Akufo-Addo, the statement added “has remained faithful to trainee nurses relative to his promises to them prior to the 2016 elections as confirmed by the two press statements released by both the Management and SRC of Nalerigu NMTC.”

The arrogance of this government's appointees and apparatchiks will see them in opposition. It is now becoming the order of the day, that they rubbish any divergent view as propaganda. This is the same thing NDC did and lost abysmally in 2916. The ground is not fertile for npp, but instead of regrouping and restrategying, they keep insulting the intelligence of the masses. Recently, two mps from ashanti warned that people in the region are not happen, but sammy awuku and go were poopooing these observations. The same happened to ndc, when voter apathy rocked their boat. The should keep creating false hope, 2020 is just a stone's throw.
HYPOCRITES. WAS THEN VICE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE OF THE NPP DR. BAWUMIA NOT CAMPAIGN IN NURSES COLLEGES, TEACHER COLLEGES ETC WHEN NDC WAS IN GOVT. DID YOU HEAR ANY COMPLAINT FROM THE THEN GOVT?. THE NURSES AND TEACHER TRAINING COLLEGES ARE TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS AND THE STUDENTS IN THESE INSTITUTIONS HAVE THE RIGHT TO ENGAGE IN PARTISAN POLITICS. THIS EXPLAIN WHY WE HAVE TEIN, TESCON ETC IN THESE SCHOOLS. WHEREVER THE PRESIDENT VISITS EVEN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOLS STUDENTS ARE FORCED TO LINE UP THE ROADS TO WAVE AT HIM. WHY DON'T YOU COMMENT ON THOSE. WE ARE SIMPLY BECOMING FED WITH THIS GOVT ON THESE TRIVIALITIES.
