Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has predicted that fuel prices will soon go up; as a matter of fact, withing the next three days.
"I don't want to be a prophet of doom but I can tell you that fuel prices will go up in a day or two," he foretold during a panel discussion on Tuesday's edition of 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM.
Kwesi Pratt was reacting to the 11.17% percent increment in electricity tariffs announced by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) this week.
The increment will take effect on July 1.
Meanwhile, the Commission has approved an 8.01 percent increment in water tariff.
Kwesi Pratt does not understand why there are so many experts in the country yet government is not making use of their expertise to solve the power crises.
"11 percent is not just…it is a lot. Now I hear water has also gone up…I am not a prophet of doom but I can predict that within a day or two the prices of fuel will go up again…this will make lives difficult for Ghanaians because while fuel prices are going up, water and electricity prices are also going up. What are we going to do about this?…we have experts in the country which government can fall on for advice so I don’t understand why we are suffering…we will go back and forth and then it will turn into politics; I just don’t understand," he bemoaned.

ALL PRICES HAS ALREADY GONE UP ON THE WORLD MARKET DUE TENSION BETWEEN USA AND IRAN. SO THIS IS NO PROPHESY. MASTER PRATT WE ARE MORE INTELLIGENT THAN YOU KORAAAAA.
Massa. Mr know all. Hahahahaha
Pratt is the real DOOM PROPHET so he should go ahead and say whatever he wants. When he was benefiting from all the freebies of his party NDC he forgot to predict fuel price increment. He is the NDC rep on Metro TV, he benefited from those children's laptops and the Woyome cash. He can predict al he wants, who cares?
Indeed, Mr. Kwasi Pratt, I am totally convinced that you really think about the ordinary person on the street. I know the so called charlatans and fanaticism will try to raise insult on you, but the good Lord will always see you triumph. You have really made my day after I listened to your comments and I hope those of us in the diaspora thank you a lot for always putting the country interest first. God bless you and our motherland Ghana.
Masa nhwe hwe a'nimu eei! this is no news wai. Even the uninitiated person knows that with America's war mongering and their insatiable thirst for a conflict with Iran and the latter's downing of the spy or surveillance drone of the former is sure conk to lead to global oil price instability or hike. This has got nothing to do with you being a negative pe$$imist in chief. Please m'a y3n aso nda wai
WHEN JOHN MAHAMA WAS INCREASING THESE UTILITY PRODUCTS THE SAME NPP PEOPLE CRIED THAT JOHN MAHAMA WAS INCOMPETENT. NOW THAT THE BALL IS IN THE COURT OF NPP , PEOPLE SHOULD NOT COMPLAIN BECAUSE WE CAN'T REMAIN AT THE SAME PLACE FOREVER. DOUBLE STANDARDS OF THE GHANAIAN. IF IT IS NOT ME THEN IT IS WRONG BUT IF IT IS ME THEN IT IS RIGHT AND NO ONE ELSE SHOULD COMPLAIN. NPP IS LIKE THE TROTRO DRIVER FROM NSAWAM AND POKUASE AREAS WHO WILL TELL YOU I WILL BRING YOU TO ACCRA BUT WILL EVENTUALLY LEAVE YOU AT CIRCLE AFTER YOU HAVE OPTED TO JOIN HIS VEHICLE. NPP MEMBERS DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IS CALLED SHAME OE ELSE THEY WOULD HAVE HAD A BROKEN NECK BY NOW. YET THEY (NPP) CONTINUE TO LIFT THEIR HEADS VERY HIGH DESPITE THE SHAME.
Kwesi please what is the problem in the Power Sector? Are you expecting tariffs to be what it was 5 year ago. You are not interested in the progress of Ghana.
And who told you the experts know it all like you know it all? U didn't see anything wrong 3 years when we have had higher tariff
