The Member of Parliament for Tema East constituency, Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover has joined calls for the mortal remains of late President John Evans Atta Mills to be moved from Asomdwee Park to the military cemetery.
In his view, the ‘King of Peace’ (Asomdweehene) cannot be resting at a place which is now a haven for criminals and prostitutes. The sorry state of Asomdwee Park has compelled the family of the late Mills to consider exhuming his body for a befitting burial in his hometown at Ekumfi Otuam in the Central region.
Family spokesperson, Paul Ansah Ackom, who visited the presidential mausoleum, bemoaned how prostitutes, wee smokers, cattle and rodents, have invaded the place.
He wondered why the State is paying his brother back this way after years of service to mother Ghana.
In support, Mr Titus-Glover on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Monday said the reburial is long overdue. He explained that, the late Prof. Mills, given his stature, should have been buried at the military cemetery at Burma Camp in Accra.
“Late Mills is very lonely at Asomdwee Park so I support the family’s position of reburial. The military cemetery in my opinion is the best,” he stressed.
Mr Titus-Glover also appealed to the government to support the family to ensure the late Mills is given a befitting burial.

Listen to this hypocrite. Is Titus telling us the so called criminals and prostitutes are more than the state security apparatus can deal with? What's the government of the day doing about the maintenance of the place? By his logic, does it mean that if we wake up one day to find criminals and prostitutes at the military cemetery he will call on all families of the deceased to exhume and relocate the bodies of their love ones buried there? The Prof is a national asset and does not belong to the NDC so it's the responsibility of the party in power to preserve his final resting place. God is waiting for us all. It does't matter where one is buried but rather your good deeds will determine your state of rest. I'ts not for the physical eyes.
Ndc incompetency smells everywhere they touch, I don't even know if incompetency is a curse on them or st*upidity at its worst! The saying is right that the most important thing in life is the one who takes control of your transition from this world, if you get a good person your burial is peaceful a bad person this is what happens! ndcfuo in nature are primitive so their everything is basaa , they are a group of people who don't think of long term solution, they want everything for today and don't care of tomorrow and they send this attitude into government business hence they never got anything done well, they don't have finished projects for the 8 years in power, their everything is half cooked but the most loudest and nuisance politicsters on earth
