Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe says the Deputy Chairperson at the Electoral Commission (EC), Dr. Bossman Asare has no right to say the NDC is a threat to democracy.
The Electoral Commission (EC) says some actions of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) are gradually becoming a cause to worry for the peace and stability in the country.
Deputy Chairperson at the EC, Dr. Bossman Asare who will not take lightly to the comments from the NDC is rather of view that, the schemes of the party are having dire consequences on Ghana’s democracy insisting that the Jean Mensa- administration has so far exhibited efforts aimed at deepening the country’s democratic credentials.
“I think if there is anyone who is becoming a threat or a potential threat to the democracy we are practising in our country, then I will rather say that it is the posture of the NDC. Since this new Commission took over we have noticed some of the things that have transpired. Before the Ayawaso West by-election, allegations were rife that, the register was bloated and we also noticed pictures of ballot papers.”
“So we as a Commission we have seen a particular pattern of the NDC. So I don’t see why the NDC will turn around and accuse the Chairperson that her actions were a threat to democracy. This is the only Commission that is committed to Ghana’s democracy because we are operating within the law,” he noted.
But reacting to the comment made by Dr. Bossman Asare on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the aide to the NDC Presidential Candidate said the view of the Deputy Chairperson expressed at the EC in public has no basis.
“Bossman’s comment is like Hearts of Oak and Kotoko coming to play a match and the referee tells journalists that Kotoko is a threat to the game of football in Ghana. If you say it like that you have not been fair to Kotoko and it does not mean you will be fair in the game,” he averred.
“He has no right to say it, especially in a manner where he has no basis whatsoever. He could have said Kotoko because of one or two reasons, in his view the team will undermine the game he is coming to referee, it is fair enough but where he has no basis and he comes to the public to say that NDC is a threat to democracy; he Bossman Asare, I am sure his PhD and other write-ups he has written concerning Ghana’s democratic development, definitely he cannot discount the contribution of NDC to the democratic development of this country and so these are the key issues,” he stressed.

Do we Ghanaians have to let somebody tell us ndc is a threat to our democracy? Hell NO! even a day old born in Ghana knows ndc is a threat to Ghana! the only contribution Ghanaians will forever remember ndc is violence, Create l000*00t and share, insults, arrogance and impunity!
Bossman spoke the truth u are threat. Go fix your teeth they are bad.
NDC has always been the threat to Ghana's development. They have nothing to offer;they being in opposition is a blessing to Ghana.
LAWYER TAMAKLOE IS BEHAVING LIKE A BAD PARENT WITH A BAD CHARACTER. IT IS CHARACTERISTIC OF A CHILD OF A BAD PARENT TO INSULTS HIS PLAYMATE AS "ABOABA". WHEN HE IS INSULTED BACK AS "ABOABA" THEN THAT FIRST CHILD GOES HOME TO TELL HIS PARENT THAT HE IS INSULTED AS ABOABA WITHOUT MENTIONING WHAT HE DID TO BE INSULTED BACK. THE BAD PAREN IN SUCH MATTERS ALWAYS GET OUT ANGRY TO FIGHT WITHOUT LOOKING FOR THE CAUSE. NDC INSULTS EC BOSS AS A THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. WHEN EC DEMONSTRATE OF NDC AS THREAT TO DEMOCRACY THEN EVERYBODY IN NDC GO AGOG.
