Deputy Minister for Information, Pius Enam Hadzide has disclosed that government is investigating what seems to be a scandal involving the Saglemi housing project.
He says government will soon launch investigations into the Saglemi housing deal and have officials involved prosecuted.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, the Deputy Minister was dismayed about the level of corruption that has been perpetuated in the Saglemi housing deal.
He says the former government has short changed Ghanaians in this deal and that the NPP government will not watch in despair for the tax payer's money to go waste.
"It is rather unfortunate that a housing policy which is supposed to be affordable for everyone to be able to buy has rather become expensive and more so inhabitable because the houses are not even completed," he added.
In 2016, former President Mahama commissioned the first phase of the project to complete 1,500 of 5,000 housing units. A percentage of the houses are to be sold at subsidised rates for low-income earners in the country.
The project was expected to be a complete city, with industrial and recreational facilities, schools, shopping malls and other social amenities. This was meant to provide a solution to the housing deficit in the country.
However, the project is incomplete with the current administration blaming the past administration for various lapses.

Pls ensure to publish the outcome of the investigations. NDC and NPP are the same leave them.
The NPP keeps talking about prosecuting corrupt NDC officials but not a single corrupt NDC member is behind bars going on to three years. We will believe when the first person goes to jail.
