Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party, Kamal-Deen Abdulai has asked political pundits to concentrate on the efficiency of the work of Akufo-Addo's appointees instead of their numbers.
He believes the question that rather needs to be asked is whether the numbers are worth it or not, adding that to him, "it is worth it".
Kamal Deen was reacting to critics of President Akufo-Addo's size of his administration which they consider to be on the high side.
President Akufo-Addo, a few days ago, added to his already large number of 110 appointees, ballooning the figure to 123 with the appointment of ministers and deputy ministers to the six newly created regions.
The ruling government added 13 more names as ministers-designate and deputy ministers-designates for the new regions. This means, the current administration now has 35 ministers more than the previous administration which had 88 ministers.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has chastised the President for relenting on his promise of keeping a lean government after he condemned then President Mahama of having too many appointees.
However, Kamal Deen in a panel discussion on TV3's The Key Point programme, Saturday said “…there is no record anywhere that when he (Nana Akufo-Addo) was campaigning, he complained about the size of (Mahama’s) government. He didn’t talk about the size of government, it’s not true,”
According to him, “anybody who says President Akufo-Addo promised a lean government, should provide evidence".

Your mouth is full so you are speaking english
You are such a low thinker to talk that way.So if he didn't promise a lean government does it mean he should be increasing it anyhow when it's not your money they use in paying them. NPP we are so so disappointed but come 2020 we will all see. The same hands that gave you power we make you lose. Watch Ghanaian do so.
Look at this guy who was as lean as single one, now he has got some flesh to his skeleton so he can talk by heart. He didn't promise lean government so he should increase it to even 200, if he wants. Nun sense!
Yooooooooo, add more numbers wae. we can see that you need more to do no work. Na Nana Addo de3 ..........
So if the President did not promise lean government,so he should do so right, politician's,chopping haram money,God is watching you people, always telling lies in the of your stomach hmmmmmmmm.
But this argument is ridiculous. Are we saying those new regions should not have ministers and deputies appointed to administer them? Come on, we are better than this...
