Eastern Regional Vice Chairman of the ruling NPP, Nana Fredua Ofori-Atta has stated that the Representation of the People's Amendment Law (ROPAL) must be implemented in next year’s election.
“ROPAL must start implementation in our upcoming elections,” he asserted.
Calling on the EC Chairperson, Madam Jean Mensa, Nana Ofori-Atta mentioned that her outfit must put up the laid-down structures that will permit nationals outside the country to exercise their franchise.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ programme, Monday, the member of the NPP indicated that it is about time the state be-fair to its nationals outside the country because a greater percentage of them spend most of their hard earned resources here in Ghana.
“. . Why should they be deprived of their legitimate voting rights just because somebody is not doing his/her work well?” he asked.
“It is a good course that the EC Chairperson has asked for time to put up proper measures in place to implement ROPAL. It is achievable and Ghana can do it,” he insisted.
