The New Patriotic Party’s Deputy Director of Communications, Maame Yaa Aboagye has picked forms to contest the vacant parliamentary seat of the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.
The seat became vacant following the death of the MP, Emmanuel Kyeremanteng Agyarko.
About 15 persons including Maame Yaa Aboagye are keen to contest in the by-election.
However, the party has announced it will on Saturday, 29 December 2018 hold a Delegates' Conference at the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency to elect a parliamentary candidate for the upcoming by-election.
The NPP, in a statement, said it has constituted a five-member election committee to be chaired by Mr Peter Mac Manu to supervise the conduct of the delegates’ conference.
The committee has also been charged to sell nomination forms and vet the aspirants subject to the guidelines approved by the party’s National Elections Committee (NEC) at its meeting on Thursday, 20 December 2018.
