Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon. Kennedy has laid blame at the doorstep of four (4) specific group of people for the Ghana's present state of retrogression.
To him, the actions and inactions of these persons have created obstacles to Ghana’s developmental progress.
Clearly angered by the country’s lack of advancement, the NPP MP held the view that the "attitude of Politicians, the Clergy, Journalists and Chiefs towards work and corruption" is the bane of our lack of progress as a nation.
“There are four institutions that are hindering the progress in Ghana – Politicians, Clergy, Journalists and Chiefs,” he said.
Speaking on Adom TV’s morning show "Badwam" on Tuesday, the NPP MP said the people who arrogate to themselves the position of pastor, politician and others, do so only for personal gain, and also because of the gullibility of the followers.
Kennedy Agyapong’s comment follows on the heels of the General Overseer of Action Chapel International Ministry, Archbishop Duncan William’s request for his church to embark on a 72-hour prayer and fasting for Ghana to avert the economic hardships being experienced by the people.
The man of God proclaimed last Sunday at his church that Ghana is in crisis hence Ghanaians must fast to liberate the country from the shackles of the crises.
“We as a nation are facing crisis, with lots of difficulties and hardships and in these times we must proclaim a fast,” Archbishop Duncan Williams said.
Archbishop Duncan Williams’ proclamation comes at a time when incessant fuel hikes have triggered a lot of public uproar.
Known to ruffle feathers in controversial ways, the renowned Archbishop was severely criticised when he prayed for God to intervene in the depreciation of the cedi against the US dollar and other major trading currencies in 2014.
But the outspoken NPP MP believes "Ghana has been subjected to such levels of mismanagement to the extent that only a scintilla of sanity is left."
Adding that "Ghanaians must learn to study the Bible on their own in order not to be deceived and misled by any fake pastor."

every 1st to 3rd day of every month is our usual days of fasting in Action Chapel International, so the man of God was just reminding us as usual, that we should not forget to also pray for Ghana and all our national leaders during our fasting days. The journalist who wrote this story was trying to be mischievous. Not that the man of God just decided to declare a fast for Ghana,NO!

For the very first time in my life I salute you Kennedy, you said it all. I vehemently agree with you. But as a member of parliament tell us how to overcome this problem. Selfishness and greed is the heart of Ghana’s problem
KENNEDY AGYAPONG, THE WORD BANE IS AN OBSTRUCTION OR A GREAT DISTRESS TO ANY POSITIVE OUTCOME ANTICIPATED. WE SAY THAT CHIEFS, POLITICIANS, JOURNALISTS AND THE CLERGY ARE THE BANE TO GHANA'S DEVELOPMENT OR PROGRESS. BUT WE DON'T SAY CHIEFS, POLITICIANS, JOURNALISTS AND THE CLERGY ARE THE BANE OF OUR LACK OF PROGRESS AS A NATION. THE JOURNALISTS WHO PRESENT SUCH GRAMMATICAL ERRORS TO THE PUBLIC TO READ ARE THEMSELVES FAILURES.

this is the most wisest thing I have heard from Ken. I doll my hat for you. journalists are the worst culprits. most of them always and easily take bribe from politicians to kill stories or blindly defend them on radio and TV stations. God will punish and disgrace such journalists like the way some are going through now.
ahhh so this one to attracts headline
Precisely; the judiciary takes 90% of the blame.
Ken has said it all so we should all try and come on board for the betterment of this country.
All you have to do is employ a few Oburoni's like they did in Hong Kong Police force & we will shake the ***barred word*** out of corruption
