Former President Jerry John Rawlings is full of praise for Ibrahim Mahama, brother of former President John Mahama, for emerging the African Industrialist of the Year.
Ibrahim Mahama was recognised at the 2018 African Achievers’ Awards held at the Houses of Parliament, Palace of Westminster last week.
In a tweet on Monday evening, former President Rawlings attributed the awards to Mr. Mahama’s hard work.
“My warm congratulations go to Ibrahim Mahama on his recognition by the AAA as African Industrialist of the Year. “This is a reward for your hard work, Ibrahim. Best wishes to you,” Mr. Rawlings tweeted. Jerry John Rawlings@officeofJJR
Mr. Mahama is the founder of Engineers and Planners, the largest indigenous-owned mining company in West Africa, and the owner of several other businesses in Ghana, which he started in 1997 after his return from London.
Mahama has also invested in Asutsuare Poultry Farms, which was started in 2004 and produces 150,000 eggs and 10,000 live broilers a day.
Mahama is also an investor at Dzata Cement company, a fully Ghanaian-owned cement processing factory located in Tema.

True Odumgya! What did to MR. SIAW of TATA BREWAY, and BA MENSAH of INTERNATIONAL TOBACCO are still fresh in our mind. AKANS should be very CAREFUUUUL!!!!
However, Nyinahin bauxite reserves shouldn’t go to him. It should be given to an AKAN. It’s quite clear that no mineral found in the VOLTA or Northern Region can be owned by an Akan. Appenteng Mensah’s SALT FACTORIES in Ada was a typical example. We all remember when THE TSIKATAS chased him out of Ada, yet they benefited from resources from Akanland.
Am Npp but for once let’s say the true our brother deserves our shout out. As for Rawlings hmmmm
Congrats Ibrahim! Keep going high. Ghanaians will worship Dangote, Bill Gates and the like and destroy our own. I am NPP and for a long time we were believed all of Ken Agyapong's wild allegations against this man. But from the Anas episode it is obvious that Ken is very vicious and will go to every extent to destroy other people. People who have worked with Ibrahim speak of his high business acumen and resourcefulness. Just like the Nigerians did with Abiola and the Chinese are doing now, maybe a future government can have a deliberate policy to make billionaires out of people like Despite, Ibrahim and Ndoums by giving them huge government contracts to execute. They can become like the Dangotes and capture the emerging African market.
Shame unto you JJ. you and your witch wife
we must give recognition to our own. Congrats to Ibrahim Mahama. For Rawlings the least said about him the better.
A HYPOCRITE AND A THIEFFFF.DID RAWLINGS NOT DESTROY AKAN BUSINESS? IF HE WAS PRAGMATIC AS HE CLAIMS AND NOT DESTROY AKAN BUSINESSES OUT OF ENVY NEPOTISM AND GREED GHANA WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE THAN RWANDA TODAY.SHAME ON YOU RAWLINGS AND YOUR WIFE AWHOIS AND THE TSIKATAS THE DAY OF RECKONING IS FAST APPROACHING ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
JJ where is your sincerity?
In your time, you either killed or destroyed all the Akans businessmen and women.
