President Akufo-Addo’s government is in the process of implementing modern and pragmatic policies which have never been seen before since independence, says Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia.
According to the Vice-President, the NPP administration is committed to introducing digital transformation system into the country to help expedite the developmental process within a short time.
He observed that countries that have developed in this computer age era have been able to chalk up their successes through digital reformation, an area which Ghana has sadly been trailing for about six decades now.
Dr. Bawumia stated that President Akufo-Addo was determined to introduce the necessary digital reformation into the country so that Ghana can equally rub shoulders with the advanced countries in the world very soon.
According to him, government’s decision to introduce the digital address system and unique identity cards for the citizenry would eventually lead to the transformation that the country has been yearning for over the years.
“We are doing new things that have never been done in the country since independence about 61 years ago. Digital reformation is the right path for the country to take in order to be self-reliant,” he disclosed.
Dr. Bawumia said, naturally, the new adventure that the country had decided to embark on would bring about some challenges but with total determination, certainly, Ghana would succeed in the digitization arena.
He was speaking during the opening of a ‘Governance and Leadership Workshop’ for Members of Parliament (MP’s) and Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in Kumasi on Monday.
Under the theme ‘Enhancing Leadership for Good Governance’, the programme was aimed at enhancing a peaceful working relationship between MPs and MMDCEs to help boost development across the country.
Dr. Bawumia described MPs and MMDCEs as key development agents. He therefore stressed on the need for the two bodies to work closely together to help accelerate national development for the people to benefit.
He said “Unity is Strength”. He urged MPs and MMDCEs to minimize conflict between them and rather embrace peace and unity at all times, noting that development is a collective responsibility of every citizen.
The Vice-President stated that government was determined to implement new programmes and policies that would make the country develop properly so that Ghana can stop relying on support from foreign countries, saying ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ is attainable.
Dr. Bawumia therefore reminded MPs, CEOs and officials of development authorities as well as the entire citizenry about the need for them to work closely together so that Ghana’s transformation process would be enhanced.
Key attendants of the workshop included the Majority Leader in Parliament, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu and the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, among other dignitaries.

hi, nana addo must get Ghanaian food, jobs, monies and there must be discipline ,. there is too much poverty ,hopelessnes and hunger in ghana, gh pp
Yes, Nana may be doing new things but know that these new things will never convince any N D C member to vote for the N P P in 2020, unfortunately the very N P P members who sacrificed their time to ensure the N P P won the 2016 elections have been relegated to the background, i doubt if NP P will get same votes it got in 2016 if elections were held today, how can a certain so called contractor from the south come to upper west to build seven water closet toilets in one municipality at a time the party youth are sitting in sheds playing ludo, oware and playing cards, that same contractor should also come to the municipality and campaign for N P P to win, the N P P is very ungrateful,we shall see what happens in 2020, yoooooooo.if it were money, John Mahama would have won the 2016 elections, yooooooo.
