The Minority in Parliament is mocking President Akufo Addo’s touted fight against corruption in the country.
This follows the release of the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) by Transparency International which saw the country drop 11 places from 70 to 81 out of 180 countries. Some critics have argued it signifies a loss in the fight against corruption.
The 2017 CPI scored Ghana 40 out of a possible clean score of 100 which is the lowest in the history of the country’s score since the inception of the CPI in 2012.
Speaking to Class news, some members of the opposition side catalogued what they described as corrupt acts that have afflicted the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government and urged President Akufo-Addo to desist from rhetoric’s.
“It is clear from day one that the fight against corruption, they didn’t mean it. They just said it, they rode at the back of it and they came to power [but] the reality is dawning on them and so the numbers now speak. There are discerning people in Ghana who are able to decipher the truth from the falsehood. You can count them, I mean from BOST to premix fuel to Korle-Bu where two deputy chiefs of staff were involved up to the bond issue and then cash-for-seats.
“Clearly, the president did not demonstrate that he was out to fight corruption,” Member of Parliament (MP) for Daboya-Mankarigu constituency, Shaibu Mahama stated.
On his part, MP for Sagnarigu constituency, A.BA. Fuseini, stated: “In the case of the NPP, anytime corrupt acts are done the Flagstaff House will issue a directive white-washing the deed”.
He continued: “Today they have been associated with corruption tag and they are looking for people to share the disgrace. The Corruption Perception Index is an annual event so the NPP should take its shame, they should not attempt to share with anybody, [and] it is their unenviable record”.

@yensiamoa you are 10000% right. I do support your comments and more. At the time of AFRC, they were all small boys and girls - now they occupy parliament seats challenging authorities.
these 1d10>ts always rely on stup1>d research to argue. if u ask them what goes into the computation they cant tell u. u can not make conclusions based on mere numbers, numbers calculated by a group of ple based on their specific knowledge. u need to bring out the whole research for ple to read and understand how the numbers are calculated. it is only a f00>l like the ndc ple that will jump to us3l3ss conclusions without thinking.
Aluta, I'm definitely sure that you were not or are not privy to the information that I have seen and hear with my own eyes. You were and are still perhaps a beneficiary of the largess of the NDC bigwigs so you have swallowed their stories of their innocence but the complicity and guilt of the NPP. I wont fault you. But wait for just a few more weeks and I can assure you that you will change your story if only you are not a blind f.-o.-o.-o.-o.-o.-o.-l
This is exactly what Bawumia said about this bunch of nation wreckers. Either they don't read or read and don't understand. The report made mentioned of all the corruption allegation under former president Mahama and his ndc T.H.I.E.V.E.S., so what is this B.A.S.T.A.R...D talking about.
Aluta, do you still support this criminal party called NDC? Our woes come from AFRC/PNDC/NDC1/NDC2. Because of myopic minds like you, Ghana was retrogressing under your government. War-torn countries like Ethiopia, Sudan, Burundi, et al have surpassed us in developments.
NDC mocking NPP over CPI rankings???!! mark my words, he who laughs last laughs best!!!
TELLING LIES IS LIKE PREGNANCY THAT YOU CAN NOT HIDE FOR EVER. THE LIES NPP TOLD WHILE IN OPOSITION COUPLED WITH ALOT OF ELECTORAL FRAUD PEPERTUATED IN KUMASI BY THEIR REGIONAL CHAIRMAN, ANTWI BOSIAKO ALIAS WUNTUMI IN HOTELS AND WHAT HAVE YOU TO SECURE THE STOLEN MANDATE OF GHANAIANS IS HAUNTING THEM NPP)DAILY AND WILL CONTINUE TO HAUNT THEM TILL THY KINGDOM COME. EVEN IN GOVERNMENT FOR OVER A YEAR THEY (NPP) ARE STILL NOT EVEN AWARE THAT THEIR (NPP) ACTIONS LEADING TO REAL CORRUPTION ARE RESPONSSIBLE FOR THE RESULTS OF THE CORRUPTION PERCEPTION INDEX JUST RELEASED. NO ONE SHOULD MIND THEM. LET THEM CONTINUE TO BLAME NDC UNTIL, LIKE THE GRASS HOPPER THE DRY SEASON CATCHES UP WITH THEM AND THEY ARE SWEPT AWAY BY THE DRY ELECTIONS HURRICAINE HARMATHAN WHICH WILL BE GHANA'S ELECTIONS HURRICANE CATHERINA FOR THE NPP IN 2020. THE HURRICAINE IS ONLY GATHERING WIND FROM THE ATLANTIC OCEAN FROM THE 2017 CORRUPTION PERCEPTION INDEX AND WOULD GATHER DUST AND "BORLA" HEAPS (RUBBISH DUMPS) IN ACCRA AND ITS ENVIRONS AND STIKE DEADLY ON 7TH DECEMBER 2020. LIKE THE GRASSHOPPER THEY (NPP)CAN SAY THERE IS MORE TIME AND RELAX AND FAIL TO PUT THEIR HOUSE IN ORDER. CHIKI AND THE RIVER SAYS "TIME AND TIDE WAITS FOR NO MAN"
