Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa says he is considering taking a legal action against Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry for allegedly threatening him.
According to him, his lawyers have already taken the matter up and will take a final decision.
Speaking on Okay FM's 'Ade Akye Abia' programme, the Minority spokesperson on foreign affairs intimated that he does not take lightly the threats issued by the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and will do every thing possible with the help and advice from his lawyers to address the issue.
There was a bust-up outside Parliament after Deputy Trade Minister Carlos Ahenkorah verbally assaulted NDC North Tongu MP following allegations the presidency is being used for profiteering.
Mr Ahenkorah, fuming over the corruption claim, called Okudzeto Ablakwa a "liar" and a "thief" who has no moral right to accuse others of corruption.
He also allegedly threatened to deal with him, a statement the former Deputy Education Minister is not too excited about and is taking a legal action against the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
It has emerged the Trade Ministry collected from expatriates between $100,000 and $15,000 to sit close to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo at a dinner event, Ghana Expatriate Business Awards, to recognize the contributions of expatriates to Ghana's economy.
The Ghana Expatriate Business Awards was organised by the Millennium Excellence Awards in collaboration with Ministry of Trade.
However, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has in a query letter asked the Trade Minister, Mr Alan Kyerematen to explain circumstances that led to financial demands from the expatriate business community who took part in a recent awards ceremony.
Speaking on Peace FM's Midday News bulettin, Eugene Arhin, Communications Director at the Presidency confirmed the Presdent is demanding immediate answers.
Trades and Industry Minister, Alan Kyeramaten has officially responded to the query by the Office of President over the role his ministry played in the alleged collection of $100,000 from some expatriate businessmen and women.
Director of Communications at the Flagstaff House, Eugene Arhin, has revealed President Akufo-Addo has received the response from the Trades Minister but he will not reveal the contents.

You do not have to announce to the world that you are going to sue somebody. Just go ahead and do what you feel is right but let it be known to you that you have a lot to prove in Court.Prepare well for your actions to avoid any disgrace in court.you will need to buttress your accusations about the Minister, the Deputy Minister and all others in court. Are you prepared? If yes go ahead.Going to Court is not easy find out from Afari Gyan, Afoko and Sammy Crabbe.
THEN OKUDZATO YOU WILL HAVE MANY INCLUDING BOAKYE AGYARKO AND OTIKO TO SUE YOU AS WELL. WHENT YOU ATTACK THE TRADE MINISTRY OF THEIR APPROACH TO RAISE FUNDS AS CORRUPTION ARE YOU NOT TARNISHING THE IMAGE OF THE ENTIRE MINISTRY AND THE CHIEF ARCHITECTS OF THAT MINISTRY. YOU CANNOT PROVE THAT THEIR APPROACH IS CORRUPT JUST AS IT MIGHT NOT BE EASY TO PROVE THAT YOU ARE A ***barred word***.IT WILL BE GOOD FOR OKODZATO TO TRY TO OPEN THE PADEMONIUM BOX AND WE SHALL SEE HOW IT WOULD BE UNFOLDED.
