Embittered General Secretary of the People's National Convention (PNC) Atik Mohammed has called on the Akufo-Addo administration to hasten processes to "jail" corrupt NDC officials.
Speaking on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo', Atik Mohammed expressed worry that President Akufo-Addo and his government seem to have slowed down after promising Ghanaians they would deal judiciously with corrupt officials.
He sought to remind the President that prosecuting the officials was one of the several reasons Ghanaians voted the NPP into power.
He therefore wondered why the government "evidence gathering is so slow" and when the current administration will be ready to deliver on their promise to Ghanaians.
Atik Mohammed advised security agencies like the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) to begin investigations into alleged corruption cases involving the previous government and assist the government in prosecuting any individual involved in any kind of corruption during the erstwhile Mahama government.
He noted that the fight against corruption should be a collective effort and so looking forward to Akufo-Addo government working with the appropriate institutions to gather evidence.
He however urged NDC officials to be patient because they will be jailed as soon as the government quickly gathers evidence to prosecute them.
“The process of evidence gathering is so slow, so annoying and so discouraging . . . The fight against corruption should be one and should be seen to be one. We should fight it and we should be seen fighting it,” he said.

NDC and NPP have made an alliance to rob and rape Ghana. No one will be prosecuted in NDC. Because they will also rob the nation. let throw thise parties out and vote CPP.
well said my brother, it seems the government is delaying in prosecuting these ***barred word*** NDC cr1minals
e be like say some ple for here chop the money some so they are scared like their masters. in deed npp is slacking on this jailing thing. almost the end of the year and nothing is been done. it looks to me they are scared of those ndc cr1m1nals or something. well i cant tell for sure what is holding them but they shd be reminded that they dont have till thy kingdom come to do whatever they want. so this is the time. 2020 is around the corner and ndc will use it as campaign message against them for lying to us. there is no need looking for any evidence which is already clear. we all know they stole and they know they stole and some of them like Dziva Attivor already knew they will be going to jail, so what kind of evidence are you looking for. these are some of the reasons why i sometime prefer military rule to this crook civilian rule.
Go and jail them. Sttu pid ffu1l. Because you come from a sahelean zone you talk like the cattle you used to rear. That is how Burkinabes send any suspect to jail. Have you convicted any NDC member who has refused to go to jail? You sit on the radio and talk utterly rub b1sh. If NPP has failed to jail them, let your party do so as you wish. Your Party is still in tatters and perching in someone's premises; yet you won't let think of making your party relevant in today's politics. Right from your ***barred word*** Presidential candidate Edward Mahama to the cleaner in your party- you have all sold your conscience and birth right to either NPP or NDC for a loaf of bread. ***barred word*** people. You said this just to earn smthn from NPP. Disgraceful.

Avalanche of rumours do not constitute hard core evidence unless the judicial system is compromised as was the case sometime back. Tsatsu's case, an example.
