Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Jnr, has asked George Ayisi-Boateng, Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa to step aside.
He said his comment was unpardonable; adding, “if you are caught, you face the music.”
Ayisi-Boateng has come under severe flak for saying at a public forum that members of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) were his topmost priority.
A section of the public found his comment offensive and asked him to apologise. However he defended his comment; insisting he has nothing to apologise for. However when the bashing intensified, he apologised and retracted his comments.
But still, some consider his apology not sincere enough and therefore has to be sacked.
Speaking to the issue during a panel discussion on Joy FM's political platform, Newsfile, Saturday, Kweku Baako said: “if I had my way and if I was the adviser to the President I would say that they should ask him to step aside. It is better”.
According to him "none of us is perfect, so it is expected that occasionally we will slip here and there. All of us sitting here we have slipped some occasions. We have apologised, we have retracted and we’ve asked for forgiveness and we expect that people will do so. But High Commissioner to South Africa...he was speaking in a public forum...so I find it so difficult that he spoke [that] language and the content of it.”
Even though Kweku Baako thinks Ayisi-Boateng should step aside, he believes “it is within the prerogative of the President...whether he continues to be the High Commissioner to South Africa or not, it is within the jurisdiction of the President. That is the bottom line”.

Those who keep referring to what the Late Atta Mills said should remember NDC is not the standard in governance. Indeed, we condemned Atta Mills, a learned Professor, for saying what he said. Why do you think it is good for NPP to do same now? This country will not move an inch towards development if we continue thinking this way. stop thinking political parties and begin thinking Ghana!
People, Why are we so hypocrites? The Late President Atta Mills said same. He officially instructed DCE'S and all appointees to open doors for NDC supporters and make them as their priorities. People, Why government down appoint non party members as Ministers and DCE'S, Or board chairmen/women on government agencies? By the way, do you people remember the guy who lost his eye for supporting NPP for EC to change register? Will you give another one eye Ghanaian a job whilst this particular guy is standing by as an NPP appointee? Is Major Mahama's wife more Ghanaian than all widows in Ghana who lost their husbands in line of duties? Please lets stop the hypocrisy and face the facts. Saying it and acting upon it is the same. NPP. Dont allow NDC to control your governance as if it is Mahama, He will say. YENTIA OBIARA. We will not listen to anyone and dance to it. NPP be strong and get focused. Ekow, Cape Coast
The missing link no one seems to talk about is that, Mr Ayisi practically said that; most of the NPP ruling government appointees have similar persuasion and thoughts, provided that they could get away with it. Why everyone appear to be silent on this remark folks? So non NPP party members are more or less second class Ghanaians and the President hasn’t actually commented on this divisive and inflammatory rhetoric. We are watching too Mr President!!
Ayisi Boateng has proved to be a party material and not a government material. take him back to local politics to learn his lessons.
You may think it's hypocrisy, the least you defend this matter the better. Do you remember the words of the prez. when he was taking the presidential oats? Did he says he will defend the constitution of Ghana or of npp? This man is going to represent the president in that country, that is why they gain the title His Excellency just like the prez. so please.
from lucky one star or data SAA de person who trying to eat Ghanaians money or makeup corruption Nana sack him sack him sack him y3 p3 nia WO y3 no
Mr. Malik, pls I like you very well don't join those I.d.I.o.t.s Kk,
I have almost always agreed with Mr. Baako on National and political issues.I however. disagree with him on this matter. Who can honestly dispute the truth in what Mr. Ayisi Boateng said?
Dear People, What the diplomat stated is the bitter truth all over the world. Either saying it or hiding within yourself, this remains the fact. Why is it that new government does appoint only its members as ministers and DCE'S in Ghana and all over the world? The Late Atta Mills did ask his Ministers and appointees to open their doors for NDC foot soldiers and NDC members had no problem with it. By the way, how do a Political parties in this country or all over the world appreciate their core supporters when they win power. Why must NDC appointee give government job to NPP supporter whilst NDC supporters who sacrifice their lives and money supporting them are standing by. Yes we are all Ghanaians SO? We must stop the hypocrisy and face the truth. Ekow,Cape Coast
