Presidential hopeful and former Member of Parliament (MP) for La-Dade Kotopon constituency, Nii Amasah Namoale has jumped into the ongoing debate over who to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2020 as presidential candidate.
The legislator says the party should be allowed to elect their preferred candidate to lead them in 2020 through persuasion and not manipulation.
He was responding in an interview following a facebook post which shared on his timeline.
Part of the post read: ''The NDC does not practice 'Monarchy' ~ Where we have a 'Ruling Royal Class',The NDC does not practice 'Aristocracy' ~ Where Aristocrats manipulate the system. The NDC does not practice 'Oligocracy' ~ Where families/factions rule. The NDC does practice 'Democracy' ~ where the members choose their leaders through persuasion not manipulation. In fact the NDC is a Congress where all kinds of people are recognised to get to the top.''
The MP went on to state that members of the NDC will choose their own candidate to lead them and will resist any form of manipulation from anyone.

In fact the NDC is a Congress where all kinds of people are recognised to get to the top.We were urged and told by our leaders to 'Wait for the Prof Kwasi Botchway Report'.What are we hearing? Is it a cabal? a Cartel? Manipulators? Political Royals? Or what?
It is time to let members of our great party especially we the grassroots to tell 'them' that we shall choose who we want to choose to change the present to the 'original' status quo.
Arise fellow Akatamansonians and do away with those who are far from what is happening on the ground today that sent us into opposition painfully. Once beaten twice shy.
Let us remember where we came from; 79, 81, & 92. Be Bold and use your thumb at the congress.
We want level playing field. There are two types of people who will tell me Nii Amasah Namoale(Hon) that I cannot make a difference to the Top: Those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid that I will succeed.
But I will press on upwardly and still pray as I am onward bound.
Insults urge me on to go forward, so fellow supporters don't mind when they insult, let the insults urge you on to be strategic in our campaign.
I know the 2 radio fm frequencies that insult me but don't despair with them churning garbage with insults, we shall overcome very soon.
We shall beatthem all to it. It is a democracy that must not be manipulated.
