The Member of Parliament for Manso Adubia, Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo has slammed voters complaining that things are hard even after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over the administration of Ghana three months ago.
According to him, Ghanaians complaining that things are hard, are lazy or do not work, they will continue to suffer and bear the brunt of hardship if they fail to work. He was responding to comments by some callers on Rainbow Radio’s 87.5Fm’s morning show, Frontline hosted by Kwame Tutu.
The callers had said, Ghanaians are still undergoing economic hardship after the NPP- a party that promised Ghanaians ‘’Heaven on Earth,’’ have still not turned things around as promised.
But responding to the callers comments, he said: ‘’you will continue to suffer if you fail to work. If you don’t change your mind, you will continue to suffer. Go out and find something to do. There is a paradigm shift; we are working with your budget and you are on radio complaining that things are hard. If things are hard, then it comes from your budget. So he must change his mind and go out and search for a job. Maybe he was getting money free of charge and so he is currently suffering and so I will advise him to go out and search for a job.’’
The legislator added: the NPP will promote individual businesses in the informal and private sector. This will promote expansion and allow more people gain jobs.
He also asked Ghanaians to give government more time as they are committed in delivering their campaign promises the legislator, who doubles as the Chairman for the Government Assurance Committee in Parliament, indicated that, the Nana Addo led administration will ensure that, all his appointees deliver to make the manifesto promises fulfilled.
“The qualified, competent and apt ministers appointed by Nana Addo will deliver the best government ever. Ghanaians should exercise patience and allow the new administration deliver. We are only three months old as a government and so, we will admonish Ghanaians to be patient. We will deliver on every single promise. I am very confident that Nana Addo will deliver the best government ever,” he assured.

our leaders must know that majority of Ghanaians are ilitrates and they have no idea about how the economy operates..some of us know that even 10years aint enought to bring change in the state of our economy because there are no structures in place yet. For lay person out there be it an Npp or an Ndc they expect to see change from the very day a new government takes over and they cant be blamed for that because most of the campaign messages are make them believe in the so called magic economic campaign speaches.."when you vote us into power all the countries problems will be solved. The Mp shud knoe that no voter wud want to see its party in opposition so sometimes people from your own party will say somethin and u might think its the opposition..The Mp shud remember that we were in opposition just some few months back..He has given a big tool to the opposition to bring down the party and i think he shud be made to appologize to Ghanaians
The headline nearly deceive me but after reading the context I understood the mp perfectly because those serial callers just call to tarnish npp image as they always do but my concern is Just 3months in office why should the callers should be making such a statements on top of their voices on air. They should have know better than that. At least one yr!
Switch your position with someone, who struggles to to make ends meet, a graduate who can't get a job and have to pay his snit loan. Respect the masses and stop talking ***barred word*** ***barred word***. Provide job for everyone then you can say that, remember the very same people who voted you there will vote you out one day, make my words
Such a lose talk...pls we suffered b4 getting power so mind your speech.
It was easy for him to the job he had now, but instead for him to console the callers and reason with them he chose to insult them. Of course three months is not enough time to create the millions of jobs promised by the NPP so he should have been sensitive to their complains instead of insulting them.
He is a ***barred word*** man and also ***barred word*** embezzled, is it there counterfeits that makes him think Ghana is OK ***barred word***.
The same old politician's, they will lie their teeth to power and insult you after. But my advice to the NPP supporters is that , they should limit and manage their expectations, for there is nothing new.
The honourable member should know how to address this issue because this problem burden the youth that is why we votered massively npp. Such arrogant speech led the then ruling party opposition. PLEASE hon we respect you soo much and also proud npp member dont allowed your temperament lead u astray i beg.
Indeed our media is the cause of division in the country, why do u decide to capture what the Hon. MP said in that abusive n insultive headline. Carefully reading the story, the Hon. MP was responding to serial caller of NDC who had called into the program to cry of hardship under NPP that is in power in less than three months. The Hon. MP in this instance is right in putting it to the caller to get something to do bcos the era of free money that he was getting from his govt is gone n now he will feel what Ghanaians were feeling under NDC of which he was calling everyday on radios n TVs to dispute.
I think the MP must be spoken to. He must be aware that he was not addressing the opposition but the whole nation. If he have nothing good to say he must spare our ears.
