Parliament is expected to go on recess by Friday, April 7, however the Appointments Committee will continue vetting the remaining 50 deputy ministerial nominees named by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

While reading Parliament’s business statement in Parliament last Friday, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, noted that the House was to rise on Friday prior to the Easter celebrations.
But the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu strongly rejected the move.
Haruna Iddrisu argued that, the recess should begin today [Wednesday], adding that the Appointments Committee could submit its report of the deputy ministers it had screened within the period for Parliament’s approval, but the Majority Leader disagreed.
Parliament has so far approved eleven (11) Deputy Ministers for the various sector ministries, as well as ten Deputy Regional Ministers.
NPP boycotts vetting of NDC ministers
This is not the first time an opposition party is boycotting vetting of Ministers.
In 2013, New Patriotic Party MPs on the Appointments Committee boycotted the vetting of ministers appointed by the then National Democratic Congress (NDC) government after they claimed that the election was not legitimately won by the NDC.

I can see a lot of these lazy NDC MPs loosing their seats in the next election....
Very interesting, they are finding it very difficult to catch up with the first speed of the old Nana Addo. Interesting times ahead.
Lazy and incompetence NDC MPs. The old man Nana Addo's pace is too much for them to cope with. Under late president Mills, things were slow and under Mahama also they were doing things by their own will. Under the old man Nana Addo, they are been put to a speed they are not able to cope with...they should be prepare for more boycotts because there are more work to be done.... Lazy NDC MPs
If only the MPs knew they were representing their constituencies they would think twice or perhaps consult before they acted. Of course, as things stands some bought their votes as usual , stole the verdict or won elections by some other indirect means hence this blantant disregard for the electorates they suppose to represent. No doubt that NDC is falling apart. Please take a cue from the CPP.
Lazy NDC MPs! Your boycotting will help fast track the process without those unnecessary questions.
When and how was the STX deal approved by parliament. Was it not a midnight affair? You can even sit at home. The majority will continue to work for mother Ghana.
If it was discussing MPS salaries or car and house loans, NDC MPS will sit in the house for any period of time. If it was approving bogus loans in NDC's government, Haruna Iddrisu and his cohorts will travel all the way from Tamale during their holidays break to come and approve. Stay away and NPP will vet and approve all of them. God Bless our homeland 🇬ðŸ‡.
Infect they should not come back to the committee uslesss minority .
See this NDC Nation Destroyers Congress MPs.
Another ploy to scuttle the wheels of progress of the country. Who doesn't work extra hours in this country? Very lame and irresponsible excuse. I hope the majority will work diligently to achieve their objectives. God Bless the majority side.
