The Special Aide and Programmes Manager to the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Andy Owusu, has commended the President, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo, for the massive recognition given to Ashanti Region in the appointment of ministers and officials in his administration.
Andy Owusu, who is credited with the formulation of campaign strategies which resulted in the massive votes secured by the NPP in the region, told Peacefmonline.com in an interview that he is filled with joy that the President has truly recognized the role Ashanti Region played as a stronghold of the party by adequately giving the region the lion share in terms of the appointments of persons to serve in his government.
The Ashanti Region has had the biggest number of appointees, securing 9 out of the 39 ministers selected excluding that of deputy ministers.
But what has however gladdened the hearts of Chairman Wontumi's Special Aide, are the latest appointments which saw the region once again securing four major places namely including that of the CEO for Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and the Medium and Small Scale Loan Centre (MASLOC) which respectively went to Justin Koduah and Stephen Amoah, aka Stika.
Besides these, the President has also appointed Mr. John Kumah, a legal practitioner from Ejisu as the Chief Executive Officer of Youth Enterprise Services (YES) whilst the former CEO of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) Dr. Nsiah Asare also heads to the Ghana Health Service(GHS) as the Director General.
This is in spite of the fact that the region had already benefitted from other key positions such as Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) which has Mr. Osei Isaac as the CEO whilst Hon. Osei Prempeh, former MP for Nsuta Kwamang, also heading to Ghana Oil Company as the Managing Director.
"President Nana Akufo Addo has indeed shown love to the region even more than his own people in the Eastern Region. We couldn't have asked for more," He noted
It is for this reason that Andy Owusu is calling on residents and supporters in the region to rise up and challenge any group that attempts to engage in propaganda that the President has refused to give the region its due share.

What does appointing ministers from ashanti gotten to do for his love for the region? would these people pay my fees or by food for me? it's bulshit to think this way. at the end of the day only their family must be thankful to the president. we want to see infrastuctres and good living not giving someone's father a job. It doesn't add anything to my life
Andy Owusu ITS NOT THE LION SHARE, ITS THE EXPERIENCE. IF OPOKU PREMPER COMES FROM VOLTA REGION PER SAY AND HE IS AN EXPERIENCE MAN TO HANDLE TRADE THE PRESIDENT WOULD NOT BYPASS HIM AND PICK YOU FROM ASHANTI REGION THAT THEY HAD THE MAJORITY VOTES. THAT IS NOT BUILDING A GOVERNMENT
this is really a ***barred word*** comment from Andy. What have the ministers appointed done for the people of Ashanti region that he is praising the president?Go and see the poor infrastructural development of the people in the Atwima Kwanwoma district,WHO HAVE BEEN VOTING FOR THE NPPfrom time immemorial.Poor roads, sdhoolshealth centers and what have you?Nothing is good over there, and you begin singing the praises of the president when we even don't know if these ministers are going to fill their own pockets or not. have been voting for the NPP 90% FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL
H.E Nana Addo should create more jobs for those who have completed their national service that's while we voted massively
I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE IN THE MINISTRIES, FROM MESSENGERS TO CHIEF DIRECTORS IN THE MINISTRIES.
We want more. Some people have taken over all managerial positions in all the government institution thereby keep on employing only their people. let us go there, too.
Well said, my Son
