The Minority in Parliament has chastised the Akufo-Addo administration for allegedly sacking workers recruited under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) government as well as stopping the recruitment of over 8,600 nurses, all totaling about 9,639 workers.
According to the minority, Ghanaians are even more disconcerted that some of the very first steps taken by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government have served to render thousands of Ghanaian youth, lawfully employed under the NDC government, jobless.
Presenting what it described as the “true” state of the nation address a day after President Akufo-Addo delivered a message on the state of the nation; the minority stressed the President has already started on a wrong note in job creation.
Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu who read a statement from his side, said the President’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) was particularly scanty on employment, a major issue on which the NPP rode to power.
“Beyond the repetition of campaign mantra and slogans, no concrete plan to tackle the issue was discernible from the President’s speech. This vague policy platform with regards to job creation must be a source of worry for the teeming unemployed youth of Ghana,” the minority stated.
The minority has presented the breakdown of the job losses below:
“In the first month of this government, 205 employees of the National Service Scheme have been unceremoniously dismissed on very flimsy and clearly partisan considerations.
110 middle level staff of COCOBOD in lawful employment have also been dismissed for no apparent reason.
8,634 Nurses who had received financial clearance and had been employed in various public health institutions have been thrown out of their jobs by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
265 Police recruits who had reached advanced stages of training have had their dreams of entering the police service crushed by an unreasonable decision to dismiss them.
525 National Security personnel have also been shown the exit and asked to go home by this government.
This represents a clear slap in the face of jobless Ghanaian youth and would further deepen their anxiety and desperation. It further marks an unforgivable betrayal of the many unemployed youth who voted for the NPP on the basis of tantalizing promises to give them jobs.”

The government will scrutinize, and sacked all illegal workers, more sacks is coming soon.
How can u recrit JHS leavers and people with 3 pasees from SHS into the police and u expect them to stay there whiles those with the best qualification are in the house with no job. If u had employed them by using the right qualification they wouldnt have been sacked and NDC did same when they came to power in 2009 so this is not something you should talk of, talk of how u will recruit throught he right process next time. So this is ur first campaign message for 2020 right?
I am a graduate too. I dont have the job i want and does that mean i have to be employed under questionable circumstances? Cant they go to court for justice just like Kofi Adams? If a worker has been sacked, is it the business Haruna? Since when? Why are people behaving like 2009 never happened in Ghana. As a country, why not sit down and reason to avoid these things? How can you employ 11000, in month when you couldn't even employ few nurses?
If John Mahama's government can recklessly recruit them after losing elections, Nana will certainly sack them with alacrity! They ain't seen nothing yet!
Haruna Idrisu, how many police recruits were sacked when NDC took power in 2009? Such ***barred word*** press conferences must cease forthwith.
AFTER FILLING COCOBOD WITH YOUR GOOD FOR NOTHING ILLITRATES, YOU STILL WANT A COMPETENT GOVERNMENT NANA ADDO TO FOLLOW SUIT OF YOUR WAYWARDNESS. HARRUNA IDDIRSU TELL US OR GHANAIANS WHEN WAS THOSE PEOPLE EMPLOYED?, WAS IT IN OCTOBER,NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER,2016 OR BETTER STILL JANUARY,2017. SOMETIMES THINK, IN FACT USE YOUR HEAD SMALL BEFORE ORGANIZING SUCH USE LESS PRESS CONFERENCES
And so wHAT Mr. Haruna. Your seat is our target come 2020.
Ernest I support the sacking of those those ndc last minute employees. I support it 100% I believe in you do unto others the things that you want others to do unto and that is you do me I do you. What goes around comes around ndc will remain fo*ls till thy kingdom come, they've forgotten so soon they did the same to the NPP in 2009 when even NPP made provisions for their salaries, were those guys from Burkina Faso? Were they not Ghanaians then? Ndc find themselves as Ghanaians only when they are in opposition, they are talking and screaming about their footsoldiers last minute employment when they didn't leave a pesewa for their salaries do you idi*ts expect the NPP government to use their teeth to pay them?why didn't you capture that in your budget? You ndc are only smart in ste*ling and doing evil but for common sense and patriotism you lack. What I always say is NPP should never think they and the ndc are the same it's a big mistake for our leaders to think that, the fact that you laugh together doesn't mean they ndc have good intentions about you so you need to let go certain things, they are evil and don't think like human beings, they are against anything good for the people of Ghana, the only language ndc understand is he hit you and you hit him harder like the people of Ghana voted massively to humiliate them which has left them still dazing and talking rub*ish, the take you as weak when you play civil to them so you go into the gutters with them. They formed their azorka boys to torment Ghanaians and when the NPP invisible forces were formed to counter them now they are screaming and crying that is what they understand so you give it to them. They do you ,you return the fire until they get tired to seek peace. NPP should act as civil and weak, behave the same way as the ndc. They sacked all those Papa Kuffuor hired before leaving office in 2009 and hired their own ndc footsoldiers whom some were foreigners,NPP is in power so why do you retain their last minute hire?sack them all Obiaa ny3 obiaa.
Is this the Haruna Iddrisu Mr. President was praising? This NDC cohort in parliament should face the law for political impunity. Does it mean these babies with sharp teeth can never reason and lack common sense to appreciate the reality as it stands. With this their 'true state of nation address' we now know the plot they hatched for the NPP government which made the then outgoing president to 'employ' 11,000 people which was not in their 2016 budget. No wonder they are not ashamed of their failure to run the Country since they do not know any shame. Its unbelievable that such an uncaring group ever governed the country. It was by the Lord's grace that Ghana did not break apart under their government. The Battle is Still The Lord's
