Several people have described as bad faith recent activities of the outgoing administration led by President John Dramani Mahama.
The incoming Akufo-Addo government has condemned the last minute appointments of people to key state institutions as well as the signing of contracts by the outgoing government.
President Mahama who leaves office on January 7, on Tuesday appointed Joseph Whittal and Josephine Nkrumah as chairpersons of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) and National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) respectively.
Apart from that, increase in allowance of National Service personnel and signing of various contracts are set to take effect from next year among others.
Reacting to this on Peace FM morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, the Managing Editor of the Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako said he sees nothing wrong with what the outgoing government is doing.
According to him, he saw nothing wrong when it occurred under the then Kufuor’s administration and he sees nothing wrong now.
“What’s the big deal…I don’t get the noise…if the contracts are not signed according to law, it will not hold. What is happening is neither illegal nor unconstitutional. If they did not go according to law, the new government has the mandate to review and withdraw…nothing stops the government from entering into contract so far as it is lawful”

The Single Spine Salary Structure was signed on the eve of 6th of January 2009, by ex president Kuffuor, whiles he was billed to leave office on 7th January, 2009.
Roce Koran and other NDC apologists will today agree with Kwaku Baako because he is siding with their pathetic moves to saddle the incoming government with dubious contracts, appointments and promotions. We were in this country in 2009 when the NDC government chastised the outgone NPP regime for the SSS approval. Today, these pathetic folks in the NDC are defending similar action they condemned. It tells you the kind of people in the NDC. They are simply not worthy of governing this great nation called Ghana. And again and again, Mahama continues to demonstrate his administration's incompetence and abuse of power and disregard for good governance. He goes down in Ghana's history as the worse government ever!!!
Name what you are saying is absolutely correct. Government cannot stop because there is President elect, the current government ends on the eve of the formal swearing in of the new government if I am right. Are we saying the current government could not sign any document because a new one is coming in.. This is just a populist attitude which must stop, we have a lot of work ahead of us.
I was waiting patiently to see if Kweku Baako would say something different cos we were all here in Dec 2008 and early Jan 2009. Kweku please tell your other journalists especially from Citi-FM to stop the noise and NPP propaganda. the elections are over and governance is no joke. The Govt has the mandate of Ghanaians to rule to Jan 7. If they have forgotten, Kuffour signed the single spine salary scheme in the last days of his administration. the noise should stop and journalists should turn their attention on the next administration not NDC
