Former broadcaster, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has won the Ofoase Ayeribi Parliamentary seat in the Eastern region under the ticket of the New Patriotic Party.
He polled an impressive 17,141 votes to head into parliament of the NPP.
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah went into the primaries to contest for the elections after the incumbent MP Mr David Oppon-Kusi decided not to run for elections again.
The ace journalist polled an overwhelming 218 votes to beat his closest contender John Obiri Yeboah who polled 114 in the primaries.
Mr. Oppong Nkrumah during his campaign promised to institute an education trust fund in the constituency to help needy but brilliant students if he gets the nod.
He also believes in the NPP liberal democratic ideology which convinced him to join the party as he shares the party’s philosophy.
He now joins the law makers in parliament for the next four years.
