The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, wants electorate who will be voting in the December 7 general elections not to be swayed by the phrase change being clamoured by one of the political parties to make a mistake by voting out President John Dramani Mahama.
According to him, per his analysis of the performance of the President, he can only urge Ghanaians to retain Mr. Mahama in power to continue his agenda of changing lives and transforming Ghana.
He said countries that have made enormous progress in their developmental drive did so by sustaining a particular government that was doing well in their governance system.
Addressing professionals on the theme “Thinking together to transform mother Ghana”, Wednesday, on day two of his five-day campaign tour to the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Debrah said President Mahama by all standards is doing very well and must be retained in power to continue his good works for the country.
“As Ghanaians we need to believe in ourselves. All the countries that you see, especially, the industrialized ones, Asian Tigers that you see, you realized that they chalked some successes as a result of they sustaining the particular government that were doing well. You don’t change for changing sake. If a particular government is on track and whatever that they are doing seems to be something that will be for the betterment of this country, we don’t say we will change it because somebody say they want change,” he stressed.
He added “And knowing the situation in Africa, sometimes when you change, trust me because of the things that were said because they were in opposition they even feel shy to continue with some of the projects that government was doing.”
The Chief of Staff in a soft voice urged the professionals to be guided by past experience and vote massive for President John Mahama to be retained in power.
“If the reality is that President is on track please let’s give him the chance in the interest of national development and I can guarantee that you will never regret for voting once again for Mahama and his government,” he appealed.
